* Sri akal takht occupied / held hostage by freemasonic badalites and not sikh dharmic parchariks. So the trickle down effects are having a negative impact on the Sikh pysche across the globe.

* Modern living which is incresingly western does not accommodate eastern customs and traditions much so youth are finding it very difficult to adjust with both culture clashes.

* The anti-sikh parchariks are telling youth you cant be a Sikh unless you have kesh, etc the same mistake made by SGPC which put all sahejdhari's into the camp of hindu punjabi's and hindutva forces resulting in loss of population and enough population for a country back in 1947. And these same SGPC and other dharmic pacharik hypocrites are caught in all kind of stings either watching ghand on their mobile phones, or flirting with girls or disrespecting and doing beadhi against scriptures.

* Multi millon pound gurdwara's are created to cater as a charity business centre for jobless older punjabi folk rather than money spent on getting the youth involve in Sikhi and make it a missionary vibrate dynamic young community.

* No action taken to combat the propaganda from other religions to take decrease our Sikh population for their geo-political goals and interests.

Good joke. According to you it is anti Sikh to have kesh. And my question was what is reason of patitpuna.

You did not answer the question. All you did was criticize another response. I asked you, why do you think there is an increase?

How is that a joke? and how is that statement anti-sikh? Youth are told they're not sikh unless they have kesh. why should they even bother to make an effort to discover sikhi with the possibility of advancing and keeping kesh when they are sidelined right from the beginning?

Cool Water made valid points. You post a question on an open forum, you get a response and then you critise rather than accept it as a differing opinion. lol another reason why youth cba with our people. our elders run the show, their opinion counts, everyone elses is just invalid.

Please give yours reasons on increasing patitpuna in our younger generation?

3. The lines of being a Sikh and Punjabi have been blurred in the past 100+ years.

2. Gurmat Naam Abhiyaas Kamaaee has become rare to the extent of being unknown.

1. Falling out of love with Sikhi. (reasons are various..dont know where to even start)

Body is a reflection of what's going in the mind. Sikhi is an opportunity to create a unique expression of the divine. Unfortunately its become an obligation. The current decisions in most Sikhs are coming out of fear rather than a place of love for their path. One can only hope that their youth years are truth gathering years and once they will realize what a blessing Sikhi is they will embrace it whole heartedly.

It is very simple. The youth nowadays are ashamed of having a Sikh saroop. They would rather look like those effeminate Bollywood actors and junkie Punjabi singers. Keeping a beard with a turban is not a |"modern look" . Funnily, they cut their hair and think they have become modern but are still stupid illiterate and pendu for the most part. If you really want to become modern then forget about your appearance and get educated, broaden your mindset and have ambition to achiever something in life. If you are an achiever then the whole world recognizes you. Unfortunately, for our <banned word filter activated> youth, being modern means giving up their identity. I am ashamed to see the behavior of our girl most of whom now prefer clean shaven men. It is not uncommon to see matrimonial ads saying something like "If you are not a cut surd or a hindu then please do not contact" . So you find a a guy with a turban unattractive, huh? I don't think many of you complained when the same unattractive guys in turban gave up their lives and limbs to protect you.

The youth doesn't remember the history anymore and have been brainwashed by reading the rubbish taught in the name of history a part of Indian curriculum. They know all about that bulls**t Bhagat Singh but nothing about Bhindranwale. They know how The British mistreated Indians but nothing about the humiliation that the Indian state has been piling on the community for 70 years. They buy into this whole secular BS believing that all Hindus and Muslims are nice people. They would rather be called Punjabi or Indian than Sikh.

The community is fragmented in the name of castes, creed and all sorts of stupid things. Parents don't give a **** whether their kids learn something about Sikhi or not. Honestly, how many guys with turbans would you see in UK? Their number wouldn't be more than a few hundred if we count the granthis and ragis from Gurdwaras. Went to Punjab recently and most of the men wearing turbans were either old or middle aged men who will be dead in a few years time anyway.

Doesn't help that our community has had more than its hare of quislings starting from Baba Ala Singh all the way to the present Badal clan. I can go on an on forever since the list is endless. If this keeps going on then I am afraid that by end of this century Sikhs will be found only in museums.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
