Did Guru Gobind Singh Boil Alive Mahants

Recommended Posts

I was recently told of an account where Guru Gobind SIngh apparently boiled alive some Mahants, killing them in this manner.

I am aware that Guru Ji banned Mahants etc, however find it hard to believe that Guru Ji would torture to death anyone in such a cruel and barbaric manner. Having researched it slightly I have found no solid proof that this ever occurred, and in fact it clearly conflicts with Gurbani which speaks of the complete, merciful Guru etc.

Does anyone have any genuine evidence (verified factual account or bani) that confirms if Guru Ji did infact do this act? If not as with everything the testing stone for me anyway will be Gurbani itself.

Yes, he did because they became corrupted and started doing things that were prohibited in Gurughar like stealing sangat's money and treating bibans differently. Dekh pariyan maavan dhiyan bhainan jaane. As far as I have heard, they still have the big cauldrons that were used and its also mentioned in Sooraj Parkash katha by Santokh Singh Ji.

Guru Ji is merciful but He will punish you according to his own rules and give you another chance at it.

Is the point that Gurbani states the Guru is merciful, kind etc in dispute? For me it is not, however if anyone believes Gurbani does not show Guru Ji as kind, compassionate, merciful etc that that is another matte altogether.

Do people really need exact quotes as it is crystal clear to anyone who has read Gurbani of Guru ji being merciful, kind, compassionate etc.

Therefore the real point is why did the perfect kind Guru boil alive these people? From reading here it appears because they were raping woman, beating people etc. Is that correct, or can anyone add anything further?

Further to add A true sikh Does not ask questions on gurus okay... Everything is not possible with ghandhi giri in this world.......Guru Gobind Singh ji Has given you all those things today that Man/woman was wanting from a long times..........He has sacrificed whole of his Family for us...He gives us Being Royal, dignity,respect,,Crown...I mean everything. Scientifically, A good literature is useless unless it is not interpreted and put into practice and the interpretation and Actions were done by Tenth Guru...Who raises Questions Against him ,He is not Really A sikh..,Can be good example of Hypocrite sikh. Indeed The Most of the Mahants Were not Good people at that time,Even Still not Good Today If you try to see somewhere in punjab...

Once The Rapist Asked the Justice ,"If everything Happens with the will of God Then why are you Giving me a Statement of Death "? Who are you ? Only God will judge me??

The Justice listened him first and then Replied calmly " If you think The that God had ordered you to do such shameful act, Then The same God has ordered me to make you dead"...

Being Merciful ,kind, compassionate are other things but when it comes to anakh and Insaaniyat......we have to kill the devils.... Hope you got now.. :angry2:

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
