Yes as a religious community we should remain neutral as both sides have done us harm in past and present. We should remember that Israel has harmed our people and we did not interfere in their affairs however hey interfered in our religious and politics affairs. Our people laid down their lives in ww2 so that their enemies the nazi's could be defeated and their people rescued from holocaust. How did they return the favor? They aided the Indian govt in killing our people at our holiest shrine in 1984 and to this day they aid the punjab govt with military training for badals personal bodyguards and commando's.

In this conflict where one side outnumbers the other in vastly superior military capability and I see many innocent civilians especially small kids murdered by one sides heavily equipped army then I cant help but feel sympathy for the Palestinians who are victims of not only israeli zionist terrorism but also hamas's futile military resistance. They are caught in the middle with no where to go. And with each unjust death of a family member that persons son or brother or father is further radicialised and want to hit back against Israel.

I don't support any side. One point I take from this conflict, especially to make a point to pakistanis, is that the they way they feel about israel holding the area of jerusalem and the golden mosque, is what we feel about the loss of Nankana Sahib to pakistan in 1947. whenthey hear that they kind of get an inkling over our huge loss in 1947.

BTW, the anniversary of the Great Disaster will upon us soon. another time to reflect for us.

I agree with that. If the pakistani's support palestinains in the right for them to reclaim ALL of their homeland from Israel then they cant cry or be hypocritical if Sikhs want to reclaim our holyland of Punjab from Pakistan also.

Sooner or later Pakistan will balkanize due to the agenda of the western powers....and it is that point, Sikhs will have their best chance to reclaim nankana sahib and lost sovereignty.

No need for Sikhs to cast an evil eye towards Pakistan. So far when Sikhs go to Pakistan, they treat us as guests and with hospitality. Why are we so hell bent on ruining that by making claims on their territory? Our conflict is with Delhi hakoomat not them. As the old Punjabi saying goes:

ਪਿਹਲਾ ਖੜੇ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਜਗਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੀਏ, ਫਿਰ ਬੈਠਣ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਜਗਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਵਾਂਗੇ

Take help from anyone who is willing to offer it, but don't become anyone's pawn or asset.

We cannot reclaim Nankana as part of our Sikh country. There are some 2000 Sikhs there in a sea of some 60 million people there in Pakistani Panjab.I can't see the Pakis fracturing Pakistan to be some part of a Sikh country.

What we really want is unhindered access to our shrines, and the chance to rebuild our heritage in Pakistan.

The Israelis are now the best friends of the Indian govt and they may have assisted the HIndustanis in their dirty war against the Sikhs in the 1990s. The one thing that we should admire about the Israelis is that even though they were a small minority in Palestine in 1948 they were able to get 50% of the territory and then when they were attacked by the Arab states they were able to enlarge the state that the UN gave them. This is something that the Sikh leadership failed to do in 1947 and we are suffering from the consequences. As for the Palestinians they need to take the area that Israelis are giving them and move on. They have over a dozen Arab countries which have not helped them and have used them as pawns in their war with Israel. The Jews were forced out of the Arab countries and do not make any claims against these countries and have moved on to become citizens of Israel. The Palestinians need to do the same.

Excuse me ?

The land that the Israeli was 'assigned' was inhabited by many thousands of families who had ties to that land they were simply swept aside much like Our Sikh and Hindu brothers in Punjab . Some career politician draws some lines and destroys and robs innocent people and you feel you should admire the further theft of land by the American and British sponsored usurpers?

Being a small minority doesn't mean you become bullies and tyrants because of your self-perceived 'chosen people' status.

I would like to know did you congratulate the Indian Govt for stealing Punjabi territory and carving it down to a sixth of it original size / a third of its post-partition size in the sixties ?

You say that the Palestinians should be happy with what they are left with ....sorry but if you have been robbed once and then are getting robbed again and again in daily gradual erosion of boundaries by settlers bulldozers with what should you be happy ?

This is the kartoot of British yet again, post second world war they had to house Jewish refugees from all over Europe so they put this 'Jewish homeland ' on the map forget about the people already living on the land for thousands of years

Its not as simple as that. The British didn't gladly create the conditions for Isreal. The British were bombed, shot and murdered for it. Jews started to arrive into British Palestine and they launched many murderous terrorist attacks attacks British officials and civilians in order to acheive their aim. In fact, the leader of the terrorist group that murdered countless British citizens at the infamous Kind David Hotel attack then went on to become Isreal's first President (David Ben Gurion).

The next time an Isreali politician appears on your tv screen justifying bombing Palestinian children as they sleep in their beds as a response to 'terrorism' remember the irony.

It's really unfortunate what happened to the Palistinians. But once it happened, the Arab nations should have helped them and absorbed them in their countries instead of keeping them as refugees to this day. Arabs are just as guilty for Palestinian suffering as the Israelis are. The other Arabs just pretend to sympathize with Palistinians, but they have no real love for them. For example, in Saudi Arabia, they will give citizenship to all Arabs after x amount of years, except Palestinians who are denied the benefit of citizenship. During the Gulf War, the Kuwaiti Arabs expelled nearly 400,000 Palestinians from Kuwait, most of whom were born and raised there.

Strangely not one Arab state spoke up for the Palestinians when Arabs do this to Palestinians. Instead they give the false hope to Palistinians that one day they will all return back to Israel as if the Jews will just voluntarily allow millions of Arabs to flood back into Israel and making the Jews a minority.

One thing to note is that the same amount of Jews were also expelled from Arab nations as Palestinians were from Israel, but Israel absorbed the Mizrahi and Sephardic Jews in Israel.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
