Sometimes a couple (when they occasionally) have different different views will just think in the here and now and present time and not think in the future in terms of like you said bringing up children etc.. and just living different lifestyles as people haven't thought of the spiritual side of marriage and understandably not everyone wants that but for me that's what marriage is about. It's kinda odd as you'd think someone who is Amritdhari or Keshdhari would want the same in a partner but I'm seeing increasing numbers of marriages where they couple consists of one Amrtidhari / Keshdhari and one completely not.

I'm just really sad, that people take our Kesh and Dastars as just a piece of fabric or fashion item. Is our Guru's identity so low, that we have to truly ask this question: "Do I look good to girls?" Everyone knows the situation due to upbringing of the girl in their childhood and teenage years. If their family is not into Sikhi as if the father is a mona of course there going to shun sardars. Same situation here in America or Canada where Sikhs are scattered throughout places and Singhs and Kaurs may be the only Sikhs at their school and on top of that they WILL BE influenced by those around them how they interact, what they do, and pay attention too. So in this modern culture, I seen most Sikhs girls techinally being brainwashed by social media/imagery/people but I have definitely seen enough to know that they think according to public's opinions due to societal values. Therefore I can say there are Sikh girls who are keshdharis who are into Singhs who keep their dastaar, but the number is scarce. It is getting to a point where even in our homeland they are following the traits of America and Canada and UK. That's why I really think its important to have a strong connection with sangat of your gurdwara around your age and keep tab on each other because as of right now I see there will be more Singhs cutting their hair in the future only for the sole purpose of impressing a woman which is a lame excuse but in today's society where most of our women especially teenagers are wasting in social media and following bad societal values it is hard to not be upset. Sikh girls are asking for it when they post hideous stuff on social media affecting their mindset towards different things and not focusing on whats important in life.

I think the underlying sentiment is right though, I am not a true sikh, if I was life would be simpler either way, but maybe people like me just need to find women on the same wavelength, we cant all be perfect.

I dont think we should ask the opinions of girls on our Turban... come on man .....We are turban guys and We love our Gurus more than any woman and We have proved it.. We dont need to ask the these girls how do we look like....
