The Hindutva Indian State which celebrates it's modern day formation of the 'Union Of India' as Independence Day on the 15th. This is a kala din (black day) for Sikhs & all other minorities who have been enslaved under the Hindutva State since August 15th 1947, all the voices for the freedom of Minorities have been crushed through various Genocides and mass Human Rights Violations across what is known to be 'India'. The Bhamanvaad make up 4% of India's population yet control all aspects of India and Indian society.

On this day our beloved Panjab was split between India & Pakistan, the Sikh Nation who fought for the Freedom of South Asia was left as a landless nation under occupation by Hindutva Bhamanvaad India. The Hindutva Bhamanvaad allowed the massacre of Sikhs following partition.

Ever since then the Hindutva Indian State has left no stone unturned in destroying Panjab, the Sikh Faith & Sikh Nation - The 1984 Terrorist Military Attack On Sri Harmandar Sahib & subsequent Genocide of Sikhs till this day are witness to how much Freedom Sikhs really have.

As many of the sacrifices made for the struggle for independence were made by the Sikhs, M.K.Ghandi had promised the Sikhs that “No Constitution would be acceptable to the Congress which did not satisfy the Sikhs”. This led the Sikhs at the time to believe that Ghandi was a man working in the interest of the Sikhs. Looking back at this event it is clear that the Sikhs were side-lined, as not a single Sikh accepted and signed the constitution.

There were some major issues in 1950 which the Sikhs did not agree with. Article 25 was one of them. Article 25 was written in regards to the right to freedom of religion. Ironically in this article it is mentioned that Sikh people are to be considered as Hindus. As a result of this clause Sikh marriages would later be solemnised under the Hindu Marriage Act (1955). This was a complete U-turn on Ghandi’s part and an act which undermined the Sikh people and psyche. The nation of people who had fought so courageously and made so many sacrifices for the freedom of the nation from the clutches of the British raj was now considered something they were not.

On August 15th 1947 Sikhs exchanged one master for another. A 'kala din'.

The black day of Pakistan's creation added another line to the Ardasa of the Sikhs:

"Jehre Gurdware GurDham PAnth to vichhar gaye, ohna da darshan deedar, sewa sambhal Khalsa Ji nu bakhso"

"the Gurdwaras that have been separated from the Panth please bless us with their vision and care,"

To think that the Sikhs gave 83,000 souls for this criminal british empire, and they couldn't give 83 seconds of their time, to see the pain of separation of Sri Nankana Sahib.

This week we mourn the 67th anniversary of the division of our Punjab, the large scale killings of our people, the separation from our historic Gurduaras, the land of our Gurus and the capital of the Sikh kingdom.

It's not about 15th august or 14th. But about what 1947 the year means for us. Sikhs and Muslims were indifferent to one another. In fact, looking back at our history 1947 violence is what we expected of them, furthermore, the Sikh retaliation to Sikh deaths resulted in half a million Muslims dying, so they suffered just as much as Sikhs and Hindus. But that was not the case of the Sikhs and Hindus. Between each other there was a sense of a brotherly relation between the two. Sikhs acted as the protective brother and this is why Sikhs gave great sacrifices for the Hindus. In 1947, Sikhs had the choice to join either Muslim Pakistan or Hindu India. Had the Sikhs given their support to Pakistan, then Pakistan would have extended well into Haryana instead of Wagah since the Sikh-Muslim population combine were majority to that region. But since the Sikhs threw their lot with the Hindus, Punjab was partitioned in half which is why Jinnah called Pakistan moth eaten.

Now considering this significant territory India gained due to the Sikhs throwing their lot with the Hindus, Sikhs expected to be treated with respect and dignity they deserved. Instead Sikhs were branded as Jaraim Pesha (people with criminal tendencies) by their new Hindu rulers. Furthermore, the basic demand of wanting one's own language to be given state recognition was seen as a secessionist movement(similar to Pakistan movement) by the Punjabi Hindus who in turn declared Hindi as their mother tongue. What can be worse than an entire community(Punjabi Hindus) disowning their own language just to oppose the Sikhs. Mastar Tara Singh the respected elderly leader of the Sikhs was repeatedly put in jail without any reason what so ever. Even the British were not like this when they ruled over the Sikhs. The first time Master Tara Singh was put in Jail, the news papers in Pakistan were saying thank God Jinnah created Pakistan or else Muslims would have met a similar fate.

And this was just the start. Repeatedly Sikhs had to face hostility from the Hindu community, from language issue, theft of Punjabi land and water by Haryana, Chandigarh as a shared capital, Nirankari clash in which Hindu leaders like Lala Jagat Narain shamelessly supporting the Nirankari murderers against the Sikhs and right into the Sikh genocide of the 80s. This despite the great sacrifices Sikh soldiers had made during the Indo Pak wars.

Dal Khalsa urges Sikhs to observe 15 August, India’s Independence day, as Black Day

Amritsar, Punjab (August 15, 2014): Pro-Freedom Sikh body, Dal Khalsa has urged the Sikh nation to observe 15th August, India’s Independence Day, as Black Day.

The Dal Khalsa, that held a a Conference on the subject of ‘Azaadi – the only way’ at Jalandhar to commemorate the organization’s 36th foundation day on 13 August, stressed that the struggle of Sikhs was aimed at finding a separate homeland.

Dal Khalsa president Bhai Harchranjit Singh Dhami said that 67 years ago Hindus got their independence on 15 August while Muslims got it on 14 August. He said that the Sikh Nation missed the bus as it was not lucky enough to get its own homeland. He said that since then Sikhs had been aspiring for their sovereign self-rule. He rued the torturous and humiliating journey of the last seven decades.

Giving the call to Sikhs to observe 15th August as Black Day, he said that there was no reason for Sikhs to celebrate India’s Independence Day. Rather it should be a day to pledge to reinforce our efforts to break the shackles of slavery, he added. He said that their organization was asking for the right of self-determination for the people of the state.

Taking Mohan Bhagwat, the Chief of Hindu extremist organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, to task for stating that the cultural identity of all Indians is Hindutva, he said, Sikhs take it as an affront to their separate distinct identity. Sikhs are not Hindus and we reiterate this loud and clear. He said that ever since the Modi Sarkar was formed, RSS had got a field day to mock and tease minorities.

Dal Khalsa spokesperson, Kanwar Pal Singh welcomed the statement of Member Parliament from Telangana Rastra Samiti party, K Kavitha, and condemned the registration of a case against her under sedition laws. He echoed Kavitha’s statement that Jammu and Kashmir and Telangana were both forcefully annexed to India. He praised Kavitha for showing courage to speak truth and said that the Sikhs too were cheated by the Indian leadership.

"Jinnah, made a speech in which he promised us Sikhs an independant Punjab with full rights to the Khalsa, Hindus got worried, So, in 1946 Nehru stood up at the All India Congress, in Calcuttta, and made a public declaration that should the Sikhs of Punjab choose India they (we) will be granted a semi-autonomous nation in the same vein as the Khalsa Kingdom that existed before Nehru's enemies (the British) came and made it otherwise."

jinnah made no such statement in 1946, he made this statement to the sikhs in june 1947, in an attempt to keep Panjab undivided. But because of the Rawalpindi riots in March, Sikhs were in no mood to entertain any ideas.

For someone who is amongst this forums minority of educated people, one would think that he should be able to double-check his facts.

The Sikhs in India celebrate and say happy Independence Day. I hope educated people on these forums know how many Sikhs still serve "serve" in the Indian army. And how many serve "serve" in the administration. They all celebrate and show that they Are part of India. Only handful still show placards who support dal khalsa( I wonder how many seats they will win if they stand in elections ).

Why such a big difference? Why majority of Sikhs still want to be part of India? I don't understand.

Very good point, even during the British Raaj, we had thousands upon thousands of Sikhs who "served" in the Indian army. How many "served" in the administraion. They all celebrated british rule in India and showed their loyalty that they are part of the British empire back then. In those days only a handful of Sikhs realised they were Ghulams and showed independent thought for the Panth. But such independent Sikhs were so few that if elections were to be held back then, they would barely have won even a single seat during the British Raaj.

Same situation is true for today. Back then it was Gora masters, now it is Kala Bhayya masters.
