Home Ministry has expressed reservation and serious concern over the contents of a Punjabi film on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's assassination and asked the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to take a relook at the clearance given to it.

In a communication to I&B ministry, Home Ministry has said that Punjabi-language film 'Kaum De Heere', which is scheduled to be released tomorrow, may affect the communal harmony in Punjab and other northern states. Home Ministry told I&B ministry that some of the content in the film was "highly objectionable" and may create enmity between communities and lead to communal tension.

Sources said that the film, which is reportedly based on the lives of the assassins of the late prime minister -- Beant Singh, Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh -- glorifies their act. There have been reports that Censor Board CEO Rakesh Kumar, who was arrested recently by CBI on corruption charges, gave clearance to the film after allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.

The Punjab units of Congress and BJP have demanded a ban on the controversial film.

The film's producer, Pardeep Bansal, has said that the film is based on true incidents, as per the findings of the Justice Thakkar Commission which had probed the assassination of Gandhi. "It is a completely balanced film wherein no religion or sect has been belittled. Some people are unnecessarily trying to create a controversy without watching the movie," he has said.

The Censor Board passed the film with an 'A' certificate and it is scheduled to be released tomorrow in more than 100 cinema halls in north India.

Gandhi was shot dead by her two Sikh bodyguards at her official residence in New Delhi on October 31, 1984.

yet that movie of Diljit which shows Jhujharoo Singhs in bad light was passed without any problem. Worst thing is how our own people out of ignorance were promoting that movie not realising the hidden adenda behind it.

Point to note is Punjab units of congress and bjp are united in demanding it's ban. This proves when it comes to being anti Sikh, both congress and bjp are united and the same.

Fact that movies that are anti Sikh are passed, but a movie like Kaum De Heere and Sada Haq are banned, if ths is not proof of Ghulami status of the Sikhs then what is.

Only benti to Sikh qaum everywhere is PLEASE stay united at ALL times. Why do we always keep forgetting our might and end up making a joke out of ourselves? We are the same people who caused the world's "largest democracy" to change its decision about hanging Bhai Rajoana once we showed them our true orange colors of unity all over the globe. Every single Sikh with every breath protested Bhai Sahib's hanging, and here we are after 2.5 years, they are still slapping their foreheads wondering what to do. This is our might! Then why do we start acting like helpless victims and forget what we are made of? See that is exactly the kind of mentality and attitude that is damaging us. We need to stop looking at ourselves like barking dogs first of all. Secondly, a Sikh is not limited to his/her sphere of action. If we resolve to do something we can do it anywhere, India or outside India.

Why there is no jokes with Hindu Muslim Christian ? even though the majority is Hindu? Sikhs were massacred in India brutally in 1984.
