Why Did Punjab Have Such A Pathetic Military History Before Sikhism

It could also be that back in those days that the people of Punjab weren't united a lot infighting and what not

the majority of Punjab wasn't Sikh during Guru Gobind Singh Ji's times. Only one of the Punj Pyare were born in Punjab: Bhai Daya Singh. So from that we can conclude that even though the first Amrit ceremony took place in Punjab most Amritdharis weren't Punjabi.

It did not have a pathetic military history at all.

If you read the defeat of Alexander he was infact injured near Multan in a fight with Jatts and the predominant clan who fought that battle were Malhi Jatts. His own army did a baghwat and said we do not want to stay here due to the fighting nature of the Jatts clans. Its is recorded by his biographer aryan that the army of Alexander had never met such concerted resistances like they did in what is today called Punjab anywhere.

Also note that Ghaznavi was attacked in the battle of the boats near the river indus and thereafter he never returned to Punjab. Jatt warriors joined boats together and formed a bridge and crossed the river and defeated Ghaznavi.

Gori was in fact killed in Pakistan near Gujar Khan by none other than Ramlal Khokhar in the battle involving Jatts and Rajputs.

Tamerlane was only ever defeated by Jatts in northern Pakistan.

Mughals were beaten by Jatts and even Babar in Babarnama refers to the wild eyed jatts attacking him.

Also Mughals faced Kharals and dulla Bhatti and also were defeated by Suraj Mal and lost Bharatpur and Dholpur where Jatts ruled.

These are just some cases which show that well before sikhism was started Punjab had a very famous, proud and martial history.

In fact many would argue that sikhs benefited from the induction of Jatts into their fold. Sikhism only really blossomed after 1699 Vaisaki and the announcement of Khalsa at the Jatt festival of Vaisaki.

Vaisaki was not a Khatri, baniya or other tribes festival before 1699, this festival is still celebrated as it was for thousands of years in Pakistan.

Se we were lions before we joined any religion. Thank you.

I hear conflicting accounts in regards to Alexander's invasion Punjabi. Some say he was defeated by Porus and others say that Porus went on all fours and offered himself as a foot stool.

Then you hear about Alexander and his soldiers being driven out of Punjab and then other hand you hear how some of Alexander's generals/soldiers and their descendents controlled parts of Punjab and how some Punjabis claim Greek ancestory being descendents of Alexander.

What are you trying to say? Are you saying that you don't need Guru Sahib to help protect you? This is a strange mentality in a Sikh forum. https://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=Vc5TWQgCZ1Y

Funny how jatts supposedly did all this fantastic stuff, yet they cudnt stop being bent over by muslim invaders n raped, and they cudnt stop "higher caste" hindus/muslims (brahmins/bhats/rajputs)from kickin them out of their masjids n mandirs, for being "lower caste" shudras. Also i thought raja porus was a khatri or rajput, since he was from potohar area.

Its no coincidence that followin this casteist bullyin that jatts endured, that soooo many jatts became sikhs of guru hargobind, and part of his akal sena army, as our gurus house was acceptin of these "lower caste" jatts. Remember also the hindu hill rajas wanted to become sikhs of guru gobind singh, but only 1 condition.....they wanted a seperate batta (bowl) to drink amrit from, as rajputs have always been the "higher caste", n refused to share the same amrit bowl as the rest of us dirty shudras.

Also funny how deepsinghmangat is a Hindu tht always pretends to be Sikh and JATTMirpuri is a Muslim who has never heard of grooming but they both think they are all that just because they are the majority in Pakistan/Haryana.

We Sikhs spit on caste system + I salute all Sikhs whatever background as we stand united under Nishan Sahib
