Killing Flies

Gurbani tells us to be kind to all beings. But when insects like flies mosquitoes, spiders and other insects bothers you while you are eating like flies buzzing around ur food. Is it ok to kill them?

I know kinda stupid question but I have been killing flies and when they are half dead they feel too much pain probably and I then try to kill them instantly. This makes me feel sad. But should a Singh be scared or thinking too much about killing a fly? But isn't it like killing an elephant or a fly is same thing? I am so confused.

I try to catch all the flies or Mosquitos. When I catch them sometimes they die in my hands and I beg for forgiveness. My opinion is to try not killing flies.

Waheguru Ji ka khalsa waheguru Ji ki fateh. Open the window to let the flies out. I had an ant infestation at my house and had to use a vacuum cleaner to remove the ants and use ant killer powder. Where possible give the insect an opportunity to escape to the garden etc. Remember flies like dirt and if they sit on your food your food is no longer clean.

I kill the ticks on my dogs . i feel sorry for t doing that .

But if i don't . they sense the warm path and get ready again to hitch hike on my dogs .

I normally leave window or door open so it can fly back out again, and say to it " hun tha chaleja, udar nu ja udar nu window kol". Takes ages guiding it, but it does after banging into a few walls n resting.

What I would say is try your best not to kill it, but if it's continuing bothering you it's ok to kill it, your first goal should be allowed to free it peacefully. But if that doesn't work then kill it gracefully and quickly, (don't torture the little thing), hope that they get closer to human birth as that is a great thing you did for the being. One life less out of 8.4 million.
