Topic is not about race.

Just admit you have some inferiority complex or superiority complex. In this entire forum have you ever heard anyone say" Look at this Khatri(Guru Sahib), he's an.example to all untouchables"? Or has anyone said this phrase" Look at these Punjabis, (Shaheeds) they do so much let's show our Punjabi power!"? The fact of the matter is if they mentioned that, then their topics would be closed down. Let us stay as human beings and leave race out of this! If I said anything about any caste(Jatts) doing something great, it would be closed for discrimination- "Look at these Jatt Sikhs preaching Gurbani to these Chammars and Brahmins, hooray for Jatts!" That's really how you sound when you posted this article. Guru Gobind Singh Ji wouldn't want any Sikh getting special treatment just because of their birth, even his own kids weren't treated or loved any more than he loved another Sikh or human being. Let's stick to this "ਜਾਣਹ੝ ਜੋਤਿ ਨ ਪੂਛਹ੝ ਜਾਤੀ ਆਗੈ ਜਾਤਿ ਨ ਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Jĝṇhu joṯ na pūcẖẖahu jĝṯī ĝgai jĝṯ na hė. ॥1॥ rahĝo.

Recognize the Lord's Light within all, and do not consider social class or status;

there are no classes or castes in the world hereafter. ॥1॥Pause॥"

(SGGS p349)

How will you describe a white female who wears a turban ?

Topic has nothing to do with race & what makes you think I am brown :-)

You will 'descibe' her as a sikh! A follower of the the SGGS, with or without a turban is described a sikh, regardless of color, creed or caste.

The topic became racist the second you decided to add 'gorrie' to your statement! I don't give a '....' whether you are brown or not brown, or white or pink or purple. You are a racist by implying that brown bibbies are stupid so therefore they need to look at the 'gorrie sardarni' to learn something. You could have easily said this 'bibby sets a good example' for everyone or something to that effect but you didn't!

This topic is definitely about race!

You are trying to belittle our mothers, sisters and daughters by telling them to look at the 'gorri sardarni' to learn something.

Do us a favor don't insult or despise our brown bibbiyaan just because you have an inferiority complex about yourself which is compounded and reinforced each time you see a 'gorrie sardarnia.'

Our bibbiyaan are doing just fine. Our mothers and sisters are doing just fine too. Thank you very much.

Mate, please visit Langar Halls of Darbar Sahib Amritsar/other Gurughars and see the SEWA by our Brown Bibis. These Bibis then go back home and do all work at home including motherhood. Since the Bibi in your post is white, you are appreciating her, you would had left her unnoticed if she was brown or black.

100 per cent spot on!

Our bibis are very clever at almost everything. They are smashing cooks, mothers, wives, friends, daughters, doctors, nurses, soldiers and so on. They are women with many wonderful talents which never get mentioned or appreciated by anyone in our kaum. They are hard working and ambitious for their families, Our bibis have been sikhs longer than these goriyan so where is the competition?

Our bibis are wonderful mothers with a capital'M' and don't let anyone take that away from them, for the sake of god. They are also faithful wives.

Khalsa ji the bibi's you mentioned aren't members of Sikhsangat.com

The topic is meant to motivate modern, western, young desi bibi's.

Who feel that their punjabi families are hypocrites & liars when it comes to female gender equality.

Young desi bibis don't need any motivation, they are already motivated enough to know their priorities. They are very intelligent.

If they feel their punjabi families are hypocrites and liars, they have the right to express their feelings freely without being judged and criticized. They are human too just like the bibis of the previous generations. They have right to speak out about their feelings just like any other bibi whether black or white. Our bibis in the west are very smart and far sighted. They know exactly what they want. They are educated and well informed. There are liars and hypocrites in every race and culture so there is nothing wrong if bibis feel they need to express it. It is a universal trait. As to gender equality, sikh Gurus have already given equality to all sikh women through their edicts. Sadly these edicts fell on the ears of punjabi culture. They have no urgency to look at the goriyaan for role models, they have plenty examples in their own race and culture. Let our bibis be themselves without aping the goriies.

If these gori sardaneea are that wonderful then why are they mimicking the singhineeas of punjab by wearing their baana? Are they wearing the bana and turban just to look pretty and attract attention? Why, have they no confidence to be who they are in their western clothes? Do they live in punjab that they have to dress like this? We dress like the western people because we live in their countries. If we didn't, we will be treated and looked upon like aliens. They are not living in India in punjab, so why are they copying us? Are they not happy with themselves as to who they are? I am very confused about who these people are.

Our brown sikh brothers face so many problems with their turbans in the west. They face problems at the airports, at the gas stations and even on the streets. They are attacked, killed and racially abused for wearing turbans and mistaken for muslims. What about these goreys that claim to be sikhs. With their full sikh bana on plus the turbans, do they also experience the same problems and if no, why, not? Has any of these gorra turbaned sikh stood up for the brown turbaned sikh to educate the western world as to who they are and why they have to wear the turbans especially at the airports? In the western countries where they live do their fellow citizens know who the sikhs are and have these white gorra sikhs made any effort to teach them and stand side by side with the brown sikhs in support? It is just so shocking if they haven't.

No one is mimicking no one here. The lady in the picture has embraced Sikhi and is wearing the bana.

On the other hand, lots of the so called Sikh women in the western countries are mimicking the western woman in the most crude way possible

and are raising children who have no love for Sikhi or the Sikhi appearance.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
