Bro jkvlondon yoy have right to hold your pov, but that is just neither true nor gurmat.The so called gods are shown to have human shortcomings like lust, anger, greed, cowardice, pride etc, whenever attacked by rakshas( i believe they had better chatacter than "gods" ) would run helter skelter for help to goddesses. In Gurbani gods and goddesses are only ridiculed .I have shown quotes from gurbani in some other thread on concept of avataarvaad in Sikhi also, may quote here if required .Rquest, please do not misinterprete gurbani in brahminical light it has already done a lot of damage. I do not wish to annoy or agitate anybody so respectfully please give it a thought

what exactly did I say was anti-gurmat I said Guru ji Stayed with Akal Purakh's Charan instead of following any devta and that Dasam Bani also in in same context the devte may/may not exist it is irrelevant for us as Gursikh because they are not PooJnikh in our eyes compared to Akal Purakh. The stories have been written out but are not accompanied with advice to pray to them ...if I had said THAT then yes I would be guilty of being antigurmat ... sorry that you see enemies where there is none

Hinduism is clearly a man made religion

if dasam granth gives any credibility to Hinduism then it would be hard for me to believe what the dasam granth has to say

that's why I really want to know does dasam granth acknowledge some hindu gods exist or does it reject Hinduism an point at Hindu gods do

They are not gods but Avatars. I believe that there is acknowlege of them being entities but if you are focused on the Akaal Purakh which is the ultimate reality and force that binds the universe together, you would not be bothered if they existed or not.

Our grear guru sahib ji gave us a reference book on hindu mythilogy forgetting to know about hinduism .And what fool we are indulging in existense of these entities while gurbani rejects their existense every now n then .The literature describibg 24 avtaar , rudravtsar ,devtas & durga was not availanle in simple language other than sanskrit and guru saheb just made it available to us all fir reading and know the reality . It is just like it.

Also, where in Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is their existence rejected? Their importance is indeed rejected, but the existence - I cannot recall a single verse that says that they do not exist. One pangti that stands out is:

ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਉਤਪਤਿ ॥

Ouankaar Brahamaa Outhapath ||

From Ongkaar, the One Universal Creator God, Brahma was created.

ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਰੂਪੁ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਸਰੂਪ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਜੀ ਉਤਪਤ ਹੋਏ ਹੈਂ॥ (Faridkot Teeka)

This seems to as clearly and succinctly state that Brahma was created by the Almighty. I am not in any way giving an exhaustive listing (as there are many) that point to the Almighty creating the devi/devtas, but this is one example that was in my mind as I read your post.

There is a difference in revering said deities (strictly against Sikhi, where Pooja Akaal Ki is prescribed) and acknowledging that they exist. Guru Sahib has provided, in the Dasam Granth Sahib, some context and understanding of who these deities are, as they are referenced heavily in Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, but to claim that Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji wholesale rejects their existence...will require verses to be quoted to establish that position.

Veerji I don't understand what you mean by reference book. But what is written in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee is the truth, 100% Sach. I only replied to this thread because as I rightly suspected, the original poster was trying to disprove Dasam Guru Jee's Bani. So that is why I suggested to him to first look within Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee and in the Sri Japji Sahib Bani in the Gian Khand Vaali Pauri where Guru Jee is saying that in the realm of Gian Khand there are many Devs, Danavs, Inders, Kaans and Mahesh. Believing that they exist does not make one a Hindu just as believing that Jesus or Mohammad existed does not make one a Christian or Muslim. I think we take this Hindu Phobia to the extreme to the extent that we say if Gurbani does not fit our pre conceived notions then Gurbani must be wrong but certainly not our pre conceived ideas. In Sukhmani Sahib in the 10th Ashtpadi Guru Arjun Dev Jee while describing Vaheguru Jee's creation says: Kaee Kot Dev Danav Inder Sir Chatar which means there are many crores of Devs Danavs Inders(with a chattar over his head). And even Guru Gobind Singh Jee while telling the true status of these Devi Devtas in the vast and limitless creation of Vaheguru also confirms this when He writes

ਕਿਤੇ ਕਿਸਨ ਸੇ ਕੀਟ ਕੋਟੈ ਉਪਾਏ, ਉਸਾਰੇ ਗੜੇ ਫਿਰ ਮੇਟੇ ਬਨਾਏ॥

Vaheguru has Created millions of worms like Krishna. He Creates them then annihilates them, again creates them and again destroys them.

Gurbani makes it clear that while these entities that are known as Devi Devtas exist, but they are not supreme God. Only Vaheguru is the Supreme Lord Who has created the seen and unseen universe. Only Vaheguru is worthy of worship. It is heretical for a Sikh to not believe what Gurbani says.

In Dasam Granth Sahib Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji relays what has been shown to him. He sets us straight about the Gods and Goddesses as there are many accounts that Hindus have given and relays these stories Obv for our betterment.

There's a lot to be learned from the accounts like not messing up like a lot of the gods and goddesses did with their spiritual gifts anda having fearlessness of demons, battle and warrior hood as in the Chandi di vaar etc.

It shows how a lot of his past chosen messengers and teachers have fallen from high in ego and Maya. Whenever u feel like your ego is rising because of seva you've done, your dastar and clothes etc, it's great to think of these passages.

Sikhs should regularly accept their inadequacies or they can't evolve properly and keep climbing up the Bhagti path. Make it part of your Ardas.
