A fire that firefighters responded to Tuesday night at the Guru Nanak Sikh Mission of America in Island Lake is under control, authorities said about midnight.


The fire at the house of worship at 217 W. State Rd. was a second-alarm fire, Wauconda Fire District Lt. Vince Clemens said.


There are no known injuries, he said.


Authorities did not release more details early Wednesday

VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

Nobody was inside at the time of the fire??? I really hope that Guru Sahib's saroop(s) were not left there while no Granthi/Gyani Sikh was on duty. If that is the case, the committee or Granthi/Gyani Sikh needs to answer as to what was going on.
