Couple Take Lavan Side By Side, Question Anand Karaj Sikhi

Does anyone know this couple to give them an explanation. Once an explanation is given they both will know how stupid and silly they were to do it. The groom says he had his boyz lined up to manhandle anyone that spoke up against his "revolutionary" ways. Now that sounds more like a threat. How more immature can this guy be.

Only thugs talk in this manner and there is no room for this kind of behavior in Sikhi. Does he really think Singhs will buy into this thuggish behavior? If I was his boy, I would have made sure he was humiliated and then told him why he was wrong. If this couple was about fighting traditions they should have fought a tradition which is not according to Sikhi. Obviously this thug is not bright enough to figure out the bride wearing red is a Hindu tradition and not a Sikh tradition as in Sikhi the bride can wear any color. Ignorance is bliss

Yeaaa buddy you really showed the Sikhs!!!!!!!!!!!! :stupidme: :stupidme: :stupidme: :stupidme:

his boys will know what to do hahaha. Let Dharamraj be the judge of his actions for only knows what will happen to him.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ

Anand Karaj is governed by the Sikh Reht Maryada (Sikh code of conduct and conventions).

The rules cannot be changed even if one 'thinks' they are right or wrong.

The persons attending the wedding mentioned in this post have failed to understand the true meaning of Anand Karaj. The message they needed to focus on was their union with god.

We have a guide here for further reading - http://www.discoversikhism.com/sikhism/sikh_anand_karaj.html

(Shawn Singh Tucker's next trick may be to give an equal amount of births compared to his wife...)

The guy seems like a complete <banned word filter activated> and what was his parents thinking when they named him Shawn Tucker!!!. I take it the surname is Thakar but no one spells it Tucker unless they are ashamed of their identity.

I think he misspelt his name , should be Shorn Takkar , anyway just opened his mouth and left not a single doubt just how much of a fool he really is

Not agreeing with them, as they've clearly got it wrong (and clearly much of the disaproval here should be directed at that Gurdwara in Atlanta that sanctioned it rather than the 2 individuals that didn't know better) but I do see the point they wanted to make, albeit in the wrong way. I don't see how the Hindu marriage custom of the male leading the female around is compatible with Sikhi, just as I don't see how the Hindu custom of the male being the protector of the female is compatible with Sikhi (Rakhri). Perhaps the bride should lead the male around ? After all, that is what is going to happen to him every day for the rest of his life from now on, so he might as well get used to it.

brother do some research before you agree with thugs. Gurbani tells us the woman makes a request to the man to take her in marriage. Making it the woman walks behind the man. i believe the pankti is on ang 936. this pankti is read at Anand karaj but of course our people don't understand Gurbani, so we have people like this couple making a mockery of Gurbani.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
