Such manmat. Its all vikhaava nothing more. This is what happens when we try to impose so called western values on Sikhi like this western form of feminism or trying to justify your manmat by citing a homosexual wedding as mentioned in that article.

These two have completely lost the plot. What they did was all for vikhava or show off in front of others so others will praise them. That's the wrong mindset for a Sikh to have and its this mindset which gives birth to the kind of manmat they ended up doing. Instead what a sikh does he does to please his Guru. And what better way to please Guru Sahib than to increase your paath, simran and rahit that is what these two should have done. But then their uncles and aunties would not have praised them as they did for their manmat.

Exactly, Sikhs today fail to realise that Guru Sahib did not advocate this western form of so-called "equality". Feminism is evil; it has destroyed family values and is responsible for a lot of the problems we are having today.

There is no written method of how it should be conducted in history or SGGS. As said it's changed from time to time, so this is no issue at all. Show's the equality with impact.

Yes that part of the article had me thinking too. Even my Nani and Taiya got married sitting down all throughout anand karaj. But Sikh rehit maryada was made with all the Sikhs agreement. So it is valid like a gurmatta passed by sarbat khalsa.so they cannot go against codified Sikh rehit maryada. Also not equality cuz one person is farther from gurusahib. The point of parkarma during laavan is that guru sahib will be both persons center during life.

Why wasn't girl wearing dastaar to show equality?

no veer ji feminism as taught to us by Guru ji is the right and true feminism, whereas these unparrd females try to use western models of thought as a way to force themselves to have the upper hand in everything little realising that they have been honoured already by Guru ji as the caretaker of the panth's future, the nuturers of future sant sipahis, shaheeds.

If we are all the same sahelian waiting for our turn to join Akal Purakh then where is the need for external bhes to come into question it is a purely a matter of soul.

Obviously the type of feminism I am talking about is western feminism which has caused the destruction of family values....what Guru Sahib taught is very different to this. Absolutely, women have been honoured in Sikhi as mothers......it is due to them that we are all here today. Sikh women in the past were selfless, responsible, dedicated to their families, loyal and of high character.

Unfortunately by following western feminism many Sikh girls have created problems such as dating (something that would have been considered totally disgraceful in the past), marrying out of religion, caring more about careers than family, not wanting to have children...........things which never happened before.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
