Sikh And Want To Cut My Hair

Recommended Posts

How long do you think hair from a really short hair cut would approximately take to grow back? And any idea what the turban is called that the magician magic singh ties? As for facial hair i only have a mustache but have never shaved in my life. I think i will be ready when i fully know how to tie a turban right now i don't know nothing about tying turbans. I've tried many times but it ends up a total mess.

about the messiness , yep I went through all that too , but the more times you tie , better you get, after about tying twice daily as Guru ji has ordered within the month it will become second nature and so much cleaner and neater looking, love your kesh they are the sign that you are trusting Guru ji from deep within

Waheguru keep you in chardikala Singh ji

if at your gurdwara theres a Singh whos around your age and is a Gursikh to help you out you shouldn't be afraid to reach out and ask for help on tying a dastaar a certain way. Also old sevadaars of your gw would gladly help you out with tying a dastaar that suits you personally. On the other note, I suggest you to read more history of great sacrifices of Singhs in the past especially Shaheeds who have so much for us to enjoy the freedom we have today. i can see your point of view of keeping kesh being pointless, but if you want to be a True Sikh of the Guru you have to follow his Hukams and guru ji's kirpa will do the rest. What I really think what you need is inspiration and motivation but theres a lack of that around today but you gotta keep your head up going through tough times in life. I do suggest you to first give effort of learning more about Sikhi and learn to tie a dastar from any sevadaars and than decide what path you want to choose. But if you give no effort and straight away cut your hair because you think its meaningless and want to fit in society today then I can't respect that.

Pray for me brother as I hope to become a Gursikh once again in time. Once i know how to tie a turban that fits me I'll surely grow my hair back. Hopefully Waheguru will forgive me later in life.
