No more posts please, End of debate, thanks guys.

Bro don't let anybody get you down! U thought out your idea with an honest heart!

Don't let negativity shut down your thoughts! U are trying to think about the welfare of the Panth!

I may or may not agree with you but I support your thoughts towards making Sikhi more accessible to youth!

Gyms + apps are needed in more and more Gurdwara's and for more and more youth phones!

Stay in Chardee Kallah!

Looks like we're back to that thing about the definition of the word 'Burger' and how Punjabis seem to suffer from a severe lack of a decent education.....i.e NOT very good at understanding what words mean in the English language.

The word 'Church', in the English language, by very definition, means a CHRISTIAN place of worship. The word itself is part of Chrstianity.

No worries veer ji, all is fine, I am not new in this. Although very good thoughts and dedication towards sikh principles and I really appreciate specially the nagar kirtan example.but Veerji, with sad heart I have to say there is no forum in the world where a hindu/jew/christian boy come and get encouraged about sikhi. There is a fine line between Love for Sikhi and Love for my own explanation of Sikhi. We all busy explaining and proving what we think is right. Nobody cares Why. I am an historian and a phycologist and following panthic forums offline and online from around 13 years. Sikh religion is the best religion in the world but sikhs stand nowhere when it comes to rational discussion and phycological thought process. We tend to use explanation of spiritual conduct to put our point in solving the regional issues and if anybody opposes we get agitated.

Bhul chuk maaf .. WJKk WJKF..

With Guru Maharaj mehar daas is an Amritdhari singh. But I am not Punjabi and dont want to be either.

Well that’s that then...another upstart shown short shrift and sent on his way, who did he think he was coming on here with "ideas" and stuff, he'll think twice about doing this again. Weirdly enough that is exactly how Gurdwara committees work. Could we the "new generation" be turning into the committees we so hate and despise...???

Many people (including me ) come here to learn and be inspired, can you honestly say that happens on this forum..? Instead of being a better Sikh than anyone else and sneering at the less learned try teaching us and inspiring us and take us along with you on the journey.

Well done all concerned, carry on chaps!!

Why name church? Church is used for Christians. We are Sikhs, Why not Gurdwara (Gurus Door) Or (Gurus Gateway), as that's wat it is.

Ideas to attract to Gurdwara are needed yes, but you can't take the Sikhi out of Sikhi.

Paji intellect4divine take a look at this, they have some good ideas.

No, you don't seem to understand fully. The word isn't merely 'used' for and by Christians. It is, in actual fact, a word invented by Christians specifically to signify a CHRISTIAN place or worship. The word itself is then part and parcel of Christianity. The word belongs to them. The ironic thing here, very pertinent o the title of this thread, is that the King James version actually specified that Christians moved from using the word 'temple' to 'church' specifically to highlight it's Christianity.

interesting info. In Punjab I've heard many people call Christian church as "GirjaGhar". Maybe Girja must mean Church in Punjabi

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
