India Or Pakistan In The Cricket

Too bad no one takes football seriously in our community. All Sikh team is something I can see myself supporting not this boring cricket game.

I don't know which 'community' you belong to but the one I belong to are football mad (hence the sheer number of dastar wearing Singhs in the stadium the whole world sees on their TV's each time a premier league match is televised). I remember my grandad telling me how, when he was little in Punjab, cricket was unheard of the pends. The only games they knew and loved were volleyball, kabaddi and football whereas cricket was known as the game played by the Bombay and Karachi wallahs. Just as Bombay and Karachi were alien places in lands that didn't belong in Punjab their pathetic excuse of a 'sport' where nothing happens for 5 hours and then someone hits a ball with a stick and then nothing happens again were also alien. But then seomething happened. What happened was that, because we mattered, a Karachi walla (Jinnah) made promises to us to join him, and then a Bombay wallah (Nehru) saw what the Karachi wallah just did and made even better promises to us if we joined him. We (and I promise I'll remember the cricket analogy in a moment), fell for the Bombay wallah's promises and went with him (btw, the Bombay wallah's promises were for an independant 'Khalistan').

So....'cricket'....Well, now that the bombay wallah's have taken us over I suppose we have no choice but to embrace their game.

India or Pakistan ?

Is this not the same as asking whether i prefer pol pot or genghis khan as a mass murderer ?

cricket is huge in punjab im currently their right now and alot of ppl in my pind play it and were all watching india vs pakistan tht day. but your right alot of nri punjabis seem to like playing Hockey (which is crap) alot more then cricket for some reason. I sometimes play cricket at the park with ppl but only 1 was sikh rest were pakistanis. Sikhs should be supporting cricket more then ice hockey and soccer (football) because these sports have more of a connection to desi people and we can show other communities tht we will put our sports before theirs!

Now cricket is played in the villages. But until 90s, this game was mainly played by the city folks since Cricket is not a very athletic sport so one does not need to be that physical strong to play this sport. Back then it was field hockey which dominated the villages because boys from the villages had good diet and were physically stronger and more athletic. In Doaba it was football. But now due to spread of drug usage, even the boys in the villages are growing weak like the city boys and that's why now cricket is so popular in villages along with city foods like noodles, burgers and other junk food

What do you mean "for some reason" ?

Can you not read ghettosikh ? Before you asked that question I told you the reason in the post before that. Did you not read how cricket was a totally alien sport to the mass of Sikhs in Punjab but was instead the sport of foreign Karach wallas' and Bombay wallas. Them foreign bombay wallas took over your land by trickery and deceipt and in the process imposed their foreign values on Punjab. One of those foreign values is the pathetic 'sport' of cricket. If anyone needs proof that their policy of total enslavement is now complete, they only need to look at your message.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
