I avoid being fed bull by the media and try to uncover as much of the impartial truth as possible, but voting UKIP, as a Sikh, is madness. I'm guessing there are certain issues on which they share common ground with certain Sikhs, but history has shown us that organisations such as these only truly reveal their hand and their intentions when they gain enough support and power to be beyond reproach. They aren't our friends - tbh neither are the other parties - but UKIP are BNP-lite in my opinion. At the moment they may seem like the plucky yet doddering upstart, feeling their way through the minefield of modern politics, going toe to toe with the big parties, but if they gain enough support things will not be good for anyone of an ethnic persuasion, particularly those of us who can be spotted from a mile away. There's something - ironically - rather oily about them I can't trust.

Have you sat down and thought this one through ? Clearly then, you haven't thought it through because that 'multiculturalism' you complain about is what lets you wear your dastar and kirpan as a rel

would you try one of the new parties like greens or ukip?

- UKIP supports the right of Sikhs to maintain the articles of their faith. You are conflating culture with religion. The two are entirely different. Multiculturalism, though it may have started w

I dont think the current UKIP is NF or BNP. They might have funny views on things but I don't think they are racist.

Not yet at least. It doesn't take much of a leap from their current policies for them to change things in order to appeal to the mob. I don't think they'll ever be in a position to dictate policy - Conservatives, Labour, and the Lib Dems have carved out that business between them quite nicely - but UKIP are doing what I'd do if I were in that position and of their ideological leaning; start out gentle, don't make any outlandish commwnts (I mean really mental, unelectable stuff like "all brown people go home"), then if the pendulum swings the right way and power is obtained it's time to reveal their real face. That true face of UKIP has not been seen yet. There's been hints as to what lies behind the mask, but not the full reveal. Just my opinion.

"This is what a feminist looks like unless we need to be hyprocrites and chase any vote going and disregard any principles we allegedly have ;-)"

The above would have made Alabama Governor George Wallace’s so proud with his famous speech ‘Segregation Now, Segregation Tomorrow, Segregation Forever’ as remembered as one of the most vehement rallying cries against racial equality in American history.

The leftist Islamic alliance sure is a strange one.

The left teaches equality of sexes, inclusion of homosexuals, equal rights for all and freedom of religion and conscience.

Islam teaches women are inferior to men, death to homosexuals, Muslims to be superior above all other religions and death to apostates.

A strange combination of ideas indeed.

On the subject of Ukip my own thoughts are they are an ultra rich party for the ultra rich who want to cut back public spending to zero and give even more tax breaks to their rich colleagues.

What they are doing is exploiting a justifiable fear namely too much of the wrong sort of immigration and too much money being shelled out to prop up a corrupt regime in Europe.

Now it's easy for me to start a party that promises solutions to your fears of the future but actually coming up with a solution when in power, well that's a different kettle of fish.

I'm thinking Ukip would be like the Republican party in the USA or the TEA party.

Like I say, I haven't decided which bunch of no good low life liars to vote for yet.

Any Sikh shouldn't vote. Sikhs don't do democracy, we do Sikh Sovereignty .

You forget that Sikhism is one of the most progressive and adaptive religion's in the world, we fit in wherever we go, saying Sikhs shouldn't vote and don't do democracy is complete and absolute nonsense, Sikhism promotes democracy and the belief that the welfare of people is best secured by their elected representatives, the Panj Pyare system is, in theory, democracy in action, they are elected by the community, they can only go forward with a decision if all 5 agree.

There is no party with Silkh interests at heart. We will have to fight for our rights. Democracy will always dissapoint.

Your spiel is commonly used by Sikhs who wanna embrace everything western because it's trendy.

With respect, you talk about having discipline and in the same sentence are calling me pathetic, grow up son, in a debate, people have different opinions, and as far as being in the club of "Sikhs who wanna embrace everything western because it's trendy", sorry, far too old for that trendy stuff.

As far as Sikh interests at heart, what exactly do you want, we can't even look after our own and yet we're making demands from political parties, who, by the way, will make any old promises to get your vote.

If you have such a issue with democracy maybe you should move to India and see how that goes or better still, try China, they don't like democracy over there so you may fit in.

I don't generally get offended by stuff people write online, but I make an exception when someone i don't know think's they can judge me, there's only one who can do that.

You obviously realise demanding anything from politicians is futile so why vote? I hope you realise it's voters like you are begging politicians and kissing their bums. You are a seriously confused uncle. I have not regret in offending you.
