Quick observation

for someone who has had a kesh all his life, I find it very surprising that he has full hairline around the temples.

You can always spot someone who has cut their kesh because there is hair missing around the side area.

How much of his story is true, just wondering if he is some actor who is fronting some agenda.

As kamc nicely puts it each to their own. However, sadly, even though one would think the guy in the video would understand a minority perspective, he is not the least bit graceful against a targeted minority in his own country.

In fact he is ignorant to the extreme in how he mocks Sikhi with distributing having a good time pictures of him in a barber shop and the tenor of his piece being consistent with good riddance. Be a poster boy for your after look as much as you want. But if you feel you are not a Sikh, then thats your personal issue. Dont mix that with something considered sacred by millions of others as some thing to be tossed in the garbage.

Leave Sikhi, that is your business. Insult Sikhi like that and you make it hatred toward an identifiable group. Whether it crosses legal thresholds for action, does not change that it is indeed hatred toward an identifiable group. Being a minority (gay) does not give you a greater license for hatred toward another minority (sikhs). Cloaking it in advocating other rights makes it that much more insidious.

I will defend minorities including LGBT from hate and attacks. But I will not give anyone a license to attack Sikhi. So he purports to have found a place to accept himself. I suggest to him that I as a turbaned straight Sikh can more sincerely stand up for discrimination against LGBT than him. He has just found a more comfortable corner from which to hate himself and others. Wish him luck on learning more about acceptance and tolerance so he can eventually accept himself regardless of labels.

LGBTQ is some lobby organisation that also has a political agenda. It seems to want to show religious people as narrow minded bigots that oppresses gay people.

Gay and lesbian people can also be narrow minded bigots too.

This is not a Sikh community issue, but a issue he had with his family. His family (mother and father) were not willing to accept him as being homosexual. He said it himself, after cutting his hair, he felt no different and still felt like a loser. It's only when he told his family he is a homosexual, he felt uplifted and free. His whole point of cutting hair is to have worldly success. He wanted to be a sheep and fit in with rest of the sheep of the world. He does not care about religion and wants nothing to do with it. He wants to be "true" to himself. It won't be long till this high he has, runs out and again he is looking for a new way to give himself the finger. He is a sheep who has no fight in him. He clearly shows giving up is his way out of life. His 15 minutes will be over before he knows it and he will be shooting up rocks like rest of his fellow celebrity wannabes.

Disgusting, its sad so many aapnay are beginning to accept gays.Homosexuality is not different from pedophilia or any other perverted sexual orientation. I am not homophobic I am kaamphobic. Shame to those who place the blame on the panth instead of blaming the sick individual himself. Acceptance of such perverted acts in not just broader society but now amritdharee gursikhs is signs of kaaljug...more to come...which is scary...wouldnt be surprised if in a few years pedophilia became accepted, with the excuse "they were born that way"

Uneducated in terms of perverted western thinking, maybe. Although I think its more ignorance. And yes I am a religious nut job, only way to meet vaheguro is to be crazy in love. Mai bauri, mera raam bhutaar. Be in favour of gays all you want, but please not in the guise of sikhi. Cause I know that those with real kamyiee and knowledge of gurbani will definitely be on my side of the argument. Please a simple search of kaam on sikhitothemax will tell you what guru sahib thinks, if you thought what I said was bad...boy your head will explode when you find out what guru sahib thinks of kaamis. Please dont add to gurbani and history which isn't there(acceptance of homosexuality)

No, uneducated in terms of thinking that homosexuality is linked to paedophilia and thinking it is a western thing, homosexuality goes as far back as the history books, as far as i'm aware, Sikhism has no specific teachings about homosexuality, if it does I would love to know, nobody, certainly not me, is making any links between Sikhi and homosexuality.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
