Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh

dear Brothers and sisters

with a heavy heart I have to tell you I am livid at SGPC new kartoot they are asking MOdi for money to subsidise langar at Harmandir Sahib ....by what right have they got to break with traditions from Guru Nanak Dev ji's time to do such a vile thing. Langar is meant to be made with kirat di kamai and given because of love not contract or political machinations . These frauds need to be all kicked out RIGHT NOW they do not speak for me or any of the 25 million sikhs around the planet. Jis da Guru Akal Purakh Hove hor kise de moora hath phalaoga ? fitt jaune ehije bande di ....

M,y sources say this is incorrect .I am no big fan og The present SGPC management , but the fact is that the talk was about subsidy on cooking gas ( which is given on domestic consumption and was available to gurudwara langars till 2years back , when the then Congress Govt discouninued and considered Langars as commercial eateries and all Guru Ghars are now forced to buy commercial rate cooking gas cylinders - Subsidy on domestic consumption is app 45% of the cost ) and since it was withdrawn the SGPC management is trying to impress the regimes for supplying the cooking gas under domestic rates . Now please apply your mind and decide what is wrong in this ?

what is the commercial rate please and are we not consuming at the rate of a business ? is it right to expect subsidy then ? we should pay correctly I don't need favours from people who would have us regulated to the pages of history

Haha! Your comment is ludicrous, just admit when your point of view is wrong.

I doubt there is a single kitchen on planet earth which consumes on the scale of Guru Ka Langar. My 5 year old knows the definition of a commercial business..... Never ever will Guru Ji's langar be a commercial enterprise...

Can't win with some, if you actually understood the context, I bet you would be amongst the first to object. As it would be wasting sangat's chravah, if unnecessarily paying tax on something that they do not need to. In fact Guru Ka Langar, all taxable items should be tax free...

point was to clarify was it tax was it price of gas what is it ? Am I wrong or were we told to follow the law of the land if just ...if mandirs churchs etc get tax-free status then OK I understand that request to have same status ... but the way it was presented was just requesting a subsidy ...and that would be definitely objectionable i want our gurudwarey free of external influence , besides chardavah is in the lakh crodhes do we need to do this ? when SGPC can easily steal 30 crodh from Guru ji by selling lands and no noise is made why this?? it shows us a kaum as incompetent, and beggars

The price of gas would be effected by the tax?

Mandir, church etc. langar chalondeh? Let me break it down for you, the gas (which is not the only fuel used in cooking langar), used to be taxed at domestic rates, now the gas purchased is being taxed at a commercial rate. When you eat langar, is there a menu? Are u charged? Commercial = commerce I.e. You SELL A PRODUCT!!!!! How can that be? Are we selling langar at a profit?

In Uk Gas is piped and sold by the Unit if consumption is above a certain threshold it is considered non-domestic whether a business or place of worship , but I am pretty sure if the Gurdwara has Charity status then pricing is altered to be tax-free (by claiming back taxation). In India the situation may be different is there a midway option where you can get priced differently if a large institution which has charitable status there or is it purely domestic or profit-making organisation categories?

SGPC is evil empire that needs heavy deep clean. They need to find alternate energy source to make langar.

Cut TV telecast of darbar sahib, keep our sikh religious place strictly "Spiritual" but not some tourist hub.

What is cutting TV telecast of Darbar Sahib going to achieve?
