Anyone Know More About This - Birmingham Sikh Being Attacked By The Usual.

It would be great if every Sikh knew self defence, but for the past few decades a lot of people are aware of this attacking in numbers.

Since the advent of the mobile phone and the fact that this particular community are prevalent in the cabbing profession, this particular community is very quick to mobilise in a very short period of time. As well as a police force that turns a blind eye to all these shenanigans, the odds seem to be stacked against us as Sikhs as well as other normal members of the community.

First step is their mobility in numbers need to be curtailed some how so that the moment Abdul starts trouble he can't call on Mo, Raza,Shaz and the rest of his cousins.

The normal tactic in this situation is to hit and run, usually one <banned word filter activated> would chase further than the others and then when he is on his own, you ambush him and beat him to a pulp so that it sends a message back to Abdul and the rest of the Kazas and Fazas.

Don't know how it can be done, but it needs to be done.Sooner or later, the authorities will have to pull their fingers out and deal with this by way of curfews on youth particularly of this community. If they start to moan and winge about being victimised and their community leaders start coming out, you will know it is working.

a) Is the Sikh okay now?

b) Have the perperators been arrested and charged?

c) Have the local Gurdwaras given guidance to its panth in protecting it's youth?

d) Are the Sikh youth going to wake up and make diet and exercise, self defence as part of it's daily routine?

Typical cowards need 5 or 6 people behind them before they feel brave enough to take on 1 person. You never see these cowards never fight one on one. Fair play though Singh stood his ground.

This sort of incident clearly demonstrates why everyone should train for physical fitness and learn a combat art that takes account of fighting against multiple assailants rules driven sport arts like boxing, mma etc only generally cater for one on one situations which are not a true reflection of on street situations.

Respect to the brother to stand up to 5/6 racist pakistani muslim. This is a racist religiously motivated attack.I blame prejudice pakistani their beliefs, the labour party and people from our own community like jagsaw poster who are denial about this sort of thing and offer the hand if freindship to the very people who hate us.

Nobody, including myself, advocates making "friends" with thugs and fiends. And thats all these men in the video are....thugs.

But where you're always going wrong is that you're constantly trying to portray every single muslim man, woman and child in the entire country as a 'thug' and 'fiend'. I hope there is no place for Sikhi to claim that all whites are racist when some whites attack a black & ethnic minority member.

I also hope in Sikhi, there is no place to claim that every Hindu is caste-ridden bigot when RSS/BJP goons are on the rampage.

the facebook post and press reports share the common purpose of spreading racial hatred. that is the whole purpose of this, which is being reported as a recent issue however going by YT the fight happened in SEP 2014

Bully's are always braver in groups, regardless of race/religion etc.

The thing about the pak muslims is that they stick together as they don't have much to lose (look at where they live, what they do, their life expectations). The Sikhs have moved on into jobs and comfort so sticking up for ourselves counters self-interest. I know this sounds sad but 'the sikhs' are more interested in making more money/paying the mortgage than sticking up for their brothers/sisters. Back in the day when the Sikh's formed gangs to protect the community they were more working class and lived close to each other.

On the self defence front, the main thing you learn (or should learn if the classes are any good) is how to spot the early signs of getting into situations and how to avoid them. Also, the difference between self defence and vengeance (the vengence 'teaching people a lesson' part lands you before the police and courts). When you do a MA the thing it gives you is confidence and the ability to think a bit more clearly in such situations should they arise.
