It is only communal tension when the particular community is confronted for their wrong doing and put on the backfoot.

Sikh federation uk have branded it as irresponsible media coverage. There statement is on there Facebook page. They're saying it may cause communal tensions.

Seems like a cowardly response to me, to Sikh Federation ever comment on street grooming and abuse or are they scared that may cause community tensions as well..

Many organisations that you think represent your interests are covertly funded and infiltrated by the state hence they never rock the boat. I'm not saying this is the case with the Sikh Federation but you have to question their silence on the grooming scandal when our sisters where clearly targeted? I have been to the SAS presentation in Gurdwaras I have no doubt these are the Sikh organisations and we should be supporting including, Basics of Sikhi, the makers of Amu, and a whole hosts of others that quietly get on with the Sewa and bring Sukh from Dukh!

even if has come out of a pub or club, it doesn't give a reason for him to be attacked. It's been mentioned it's not a pub or club it's a hotel but we don't know if came out there. He may just been walking past, it don't matter it's a violent attack.

It doesn't matter where he came out of I.e: a bar or club. The story on the Sikh youth Birmingham facebook page says that they know the Singh being attacked personally and these guys were harassing his cousin sister, he had already had already had an altercation with one of them earlier that night. Later they jumped him with bigger numbers.

The location is broad Street on Birmingham, outside jury's inn hotel which for people not local to the area is the street where most of the bars, clubs, restaurants are. Jury's inn is more or less in a prime area of broad street near mooch bar and bar risa where a lot of "Asians" go to.

Is there any actual confirmation of why it happened and who was involved? (Not just hearsay on the ever reliable 'Facebook')

A lot assumptions been made, they may well be correct.. or not.

Sikh feds response is both the most and reasonable and responsible that ive heard yet.

Very few other organisations that have a range of activities take up the issue in the media and politically. Perhaps we allow ourselves to forget such matters as the Sikh Federation (UK) is so vocal on many other issues or we dislike them for some reason.

The issue is also tackled head on in the Sikh Manifesto and two meetings have taken place with the UK Govt in the last few weeks.

The above is accepted but the statements are through third party websites? Shouldn't all the articles above feature prominently on the Sikh Federation website as the issue of grooming and race against Sikhs is current and onging? Also with your recent meetings with the UK government, if you are to represent us as Sikhs have the minutes been published so we as a community know what was or not said on our behalf?
