Indian media covers this. Can't help but note the negative undertone of the article not to mention all the negative comments by quasi secular Sikhs and of course the Hindus

Kalyugi manmukhs would like nothing better than for Sikhs to not practice Sikhi. Any attempt at parchar that makes Sikhs closer to Sikhi and becoming Saabat soorat is seen negatively by them.

I would actually disagree with what you said there, and bear in mind I am as anti-India as you one can possibly get. Sure some of those comments that you refer to originate from a deep-rooted hatred of Sikhs and some of the comments from from 'Sikhs' because of an inferiority complex about the Khalsa but.....and this is a big BUT....we need to do a bit of self-analysis too and see how our parcharks come across. To do this we have to imagine we are a 3rd party and its another religion talking about their own people. Imagine, for one moment, the news piece related to Muslims who were bringing lapsed Muslims back to Islam. Using the exact same words and reasoning as our own SGPC did in the article above lets imagine the mullah's said "We go to schools, identify Muslim students who have lapsed, separate them from the Sikhs and Hindus for a lecture, and tell them that being Muslim will bring them more respect in society".

The Mullahs then go on to say: "We also pick two students, one Muslim and another a non-believer, and give a spot demo on how beaing a Muslim increases height and makes them more handsome!

I could go on here but you catch my drift don't you? If I was convincing a lapsed Singh to re-grow his hair I wouldn't use the material un-Sikh maya argument of being outwardly 'handsome' in order to get him back. That, is an illusion in itself and is in so many ways the antithesis of what Sikhi is about. I would use spirituality, sacrifices, truth and love as my weapon to convince him. So, its all well and good us criticising the people who made negative comments about the article but we also need to realise how our un-padh parcharaks are making us all look unpadh and silly too.

Yeah I wonder what they tell these students just to do? Keep kesh thats all?! Really do we need future Badals and Makkars leading our Panth down the drain who also keep their hair but don't follow Sikhi at all? Or a future Akal Takht Jathedar who is under control and would rather follow worldly leaders advice instead of our Gurus. No, keeping kesh is not only the solution. One has to learn about Sikhi gurbani/ithiaas and have pyaar for the Guru so much that you will give your head a.k.a chak amrit and keep rehat and fight against oppression. Thats the kind of breed we need.

Even Badal took Amrit, he's popular because he betrayed Jarnail Singh Bhinderwale in the battle to protect Harmandir Sahib.

I never actually knew that really hm.... and of course during Operation Bluestar several of so called Panthik supporters of Sant ji betrayed him in order to save their own lives and Badal wanted Sant ji dead beforehand too. Rehat is a must.
