Iv ebeen thinkin recently about how every1 takes what the akal thakt leaders say accept the random sandeshs like 4 kids minimum, only singh and kaur names can marry, etc etc

i FULLY respect what the akaal thakt represents, the throne, the historical significance. but cant help feel the people running it's decsiions are not thought out, and practically a jokes sometimes.

should we even take anything they say serisouly? my hearts tellin me its BS. and i ent no puppet to follow blindly.

To be honest, I only try to respect what comes from the Akal Takht. That doesn't mean I'll listen to or implement it. It's just there, in my head like, yeah, just try to respect the fact that some people will now follow this order. But I try to only follow and accept hukam of Guru Granth Sahib.

No! The last true Jathedar by Khalsa standards was Ranjit Singh when he assassinated Gurbachana for all of his crimes in 1978. Today the Indian Government works to select the Jathedar that's why Khalistan is supper important.

When you start nitpicking who you consider an akal takth leader and who you don't, you're in the realm of manmat, as your using your own individual "logical rational" reasoning to decide.

Do you believe that Badal should deserve the title from the "Akal Takht" Gem of the community? If you love Nadal you support India selecting the Jathedar, if you love the Khalsa way than you should follow the Maryada Guru Sahib actually made: Punj Pyare!

Fix the institution. First and foremost, it is vital to understand that without the Akaal Takht Sahib, the Panth will splinter into factions and it is very possible that infighting will become the norm. Whereas now, we can all look towards the one central authority for a decision and guidance, without the Akaal Takht Sahib, every group will claim to be the one true group and any hopes of unity will be dashed.

Badal can be blamed, Jathedars can be blamed, but in reality, Badal is voted in by the public, who then controls the SGPC, who then controls the Akaal Takht Sahib. It is the Sikh Panth's responsibility to understand this cycle, break the tie between Punjab politics and the SGPC and demand that the SGPC cater to the Sikhs rather than their own selfish needs (only under threat of grave consequence to the SGPC and the Takht Sahib sevadaars would this be achieved, given the pervasive infiltration of the government into Sikh affairs).

The institution itself is not bad, but the Sikh Panth has let it be delivered into the hands of the government. And understand that the government would like nothing better than to have the Sikhs ignore the Akaal Takht Sahib - the Sikhs remain the only force in India to combat a total Hinduvta agenda from being implemented in the India. These types of conversations and thoughts is EXACTLY what the government wants.

Fix the system and don't destroy the one platform of unity in the Sikh faith. Ignoring the Akaal Takht Sahib and eliminating its power in the Sikh Panth will take decades, if not centuries, to repair and get the Sikh Panth back towards a unified body. If you think things are bad now, imagine every major Sikh jathebandi fighting amongst themselves like children - a much scarier picture.

It's a pale shadow of what it use to be AND should be, but it's Akal Takhat Sahib, y'know? It has such huge historical and religious significance I can't bring myself to cast it aside like yesterday's newspaper. They've put Sikhs in a quandary, and that's a situation that should never have arised.

I refuse to recognise the jathedar et al. The Akal Takht will always hold historical, religious and political significance. But the jathedar is appointed by the sgpc and the sgpc was abolished back in 1986 by Sarbat Khalsa.

So...should we recognise either? Nope.
