Amritsar, June 6

Akal Takht Jathedar Gurbachan Singh today justified naming former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as the perpetrator of Operation Bluestar and raising pro-Khalistan slogans.

Talking to the mediapersons after an “ardaas” to mark the Army operation’s anniversary here, the Jathedar said, “The prayers are offered in a similar manner every year. We’ve not named Indira Gandhi in it for the first time. There is nothing wrong in it,” he said.

On pro-Khalistan slogans being raised after the event, he said there was no ban on demanding Khalistan. He, however, declined to comment when asked whether he supported the demand.

On General Shubeg Singh’s name not finding mention in the “ardaas”, he said they would keep it in mind in future. The objection regarding it was raised by Beant Singh, brother of General Shubeg Singh, who came here for the anniversary event, but wasn't allowed inside Akal Takht.

The Jathedar justified tight security arrangements in view of the last year’s clash. It was meant for the safety of the pilgrims, he said. On deployment of cops in civvies on the Golden Temple complex, he said they had come to pay obeisance at the shrine. He also demanded that the Union Government should return the rare artefacts and books taken away from the Sikh Reference Library during Bluestar.

Earlier, addressing the ceremony, he said the wounds inflicted by Bluestar were still fresh even after 31 years. “These are unforgettable scars on Sikh psyche,” he said.

He said the community should make a united effort for the release of Sikh detainees languishing in different jails for years. He gave a call to the community to jointly work to root out evils like drug addiction and rising apostasy. He also asked them to curb female foeticide and respect women.

The day started with the police and the SGPC task force turning the entire Golden Temple Complex, particularly the area around Akal Takht, into a fortress for the ceremony to mark Bluestar anniversary. The SGPC task force members outnumbered others inside Akal Takht.

As soon as the Akal Takht Jathedar’s address came to an end and kin of the “martyrs” were felicitated, there was intense sloganeering in support of Khalistan by those who had gathered for the Akhand Path bhog. Subsequently, the crowd, mostly comprising Sikh youth, marched around the “parikarma” of the Golden Temple with banners of “Khalistan Zindabad” in their hands.

SAD (Amritsar) president Simranjeet Singh Mann was conspicuous by his absence. Prominent among those present on the occasion included SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar and Damdami Taksal chief Harnam Singh Khalsa.

So some of these misguided punjabi hindu's held a religious ceremony to respect the evil indian army men who went in and invaded and attacked the Sikh holiest shrine? destorying the Sikh parliament (sri akal takht), looting our sikh heritage from Sikh reference library and to top it off Killing thousands of innocent Sikh men, women and children as well as religious and political leaders?

Imagine it was the Sikh Khalistani army who went into a hinduism holiest temple in varanasi and destroyed it and the indian parliament killing thousands of hindus and 30years on Sikhs held a religious ceremony for the shaheed Khalistani army members. This is how besharam, evil, disgraceful and absurd some of the punjabi hindus have become.

Talk about provoking the Sikhs of punjab or what. Tell you guys what lets do ardas for the evil mughul jihadi soldiers who killed hindu's back all those centuries ago lets see if the Hindustani's the HP's like it then?

forgetting about acts of other communities - what happened at Akal takhat yesterday should be eye opener to anyone who is really worried about state of affairs in sikh World -

First the so called Jathedar of Akal Takhat forgets to highlight the pending issues before the community , then some kirpan weilding youth with Dumallas tied on theirheads start shouting slogans and during fracas their dumallas fall off their heads - it is found that they are all shaven heads - the question is were they stooges or agents of inteli agenciesthen what the makkar Sena was doing (Makkar has appointed a fauj of his boys in the name of security of Complex) , or if they really were from sikh families then nothing is left to comment about the halat of Quaum - it was really painful to watch all that happening live

Are these not the pending issues before the community?

"He said the community should make a united effort for the release of Sikh detainees languishing in different jails for years. He gave a call to the community to jointly work to root out evils like drug addiction and rising apostasy. He also asked them to curb female foeticide and respect women."

"it is found that they are all shaven heads"

Where did you find this information because a Singh from UK has been arrested and looks a Sabat Soorat Singh in the pictures.

Punjabi Hindus paying tribute to the terrorist Indian army soldiers who attacked Sri Darbar Sahib in 1984 Ghalukara is like rubbing salt in our wounds. This would would be like Muslims celebrating the destruction of the Somnath Mandir by the Muslim army of Mahmud Ghazni. But even Muslims would not be so indecent to do such a thing. The fact these terrorist Shiv Sainics have to do this under heavy police security protecting them says a lot

Now i fully understand why the persian muslims came up with the term "hindu" meaning black theif in persian farsi. These people have no honour, have no morality, their atheist brahmin rulers lead the lower caste masses like sheep.

Kill, rape, loot is what it means to be atheist pagan hindu and yet they cry about what muslims did to them for 800years. I am fast loosing sympathy for what happened to Hindus at the hands of Muslim invaders and modern day jihadi simpletons.

Read what happened in the Parikarma at Sri Harmandar Sahib on June 6, 2015 after the ceremony at the Akal Takht finished !!!

Read what happened in the Parikarma at Sri Harmandar Sahib on June 6, 2015 after the ceremony at the Akal Takht finished . SGPC task force and the Punjab police in civilian clothes picked up some youth wearing ‘dummala type turbans’. The police in civilian clothes came out of a room on the Parikarma and took these young people inside. Some pilgrims described that loud cries were heard from inside the room as if these young people were being tortured inside. Then they were brought out of the complex where about hundred of the police in uniform were waiting for them. One of the arrested man is from Derby, U.K

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
