Hypothetical New Sikh Sect That Accepts Homosexuality

I'll be the first to admit that I personally don't know enough to form a concrete opinion on whether or not gay marriage is permitted by the Gurus.

All I know is that calling them paapis/sinners is definitely against the principles of Sikhism, and goes against the whole concept of "indiscriminate love"

"I'm not fighting for rights as much as I could"

Not quite the same as saying "all I do can't ever be enough for Vaheguru", is it Jacfsing Ji? Stop trying to leaven your hypocrisy with numinous and allegorical qualities.

You still insult the Rehat, when Guru Sahib said,"Rehat Pyara Mujh ko, Sikh Pyara nahi" constantly saying the Rehat is wrong. When even Guru Sahib went on one knee for this Rehat.

Problem is there's different version Rehat Maryada (and it interpretation ) out there.

So I understand why there are Sikhs who don't follow Rehat strictly. It's just man made document (which there have been adjustments made to document) created in the last century while other Sikh groups ( like AKJ, Damdami Taksal etc) created their own version of Rehat since they reject SGPC rehat.

If there's new sect formed in our community, they will just create their own Rehat to justify their beliefs.

This issue more cultural than spiritual, but since majority of Sikhs in this world are from Punjab, chances of seeing gay Anand Karaj ceremony actually happening is slim. However, if Sikh demographic change (or Punjabis stop caring about Sikhi), then I could see shift to where we will see enough support for Gay Sikh community and their "right" to get married in Gurdwara.

Such incredulous non sensical shameless comments like gay Anand Karaj being allowed here sometimes makes one wonder is this a Sikh website?

And as we all know it is these comments should be deleted immediately.

And if you have a similar view with me, then that must mean something.

If you can find Gurbani that supports homosexuality I would be shocked, not even support, but in a generic sense saying you don't have to be straight. Before you yap, please show the only light of the world: Guru Granth Sahib Ji's bani in support of your garbage, closet-homo.

Uh-huh, what it means is that there are now two mental invalids lurking about this forum. You don't need to feel so alone any more, Jacfsing.

your garbage, closet-homo.

There was a guy at my high school who spoke in precisely that manner to gay people. Then, one day, it was discovered that he was the most fabulously flaming queen of them all, he tried to rub his junk up against another bloke's buttocks.

You remind me of him very much Jacfsing. I think you two would have gotten along famously.

To the first paragraph, JSinghz is my least favorite guy on this site, I honestly think he's too anti-Gurmat to be on this website.

Second paragraph, if I met a gay I would respect them as a person, (one of my closest friends was gay), but that doesn't mean it would be right for a Sikh to live that lifestyle. What I dislike is people being closet-gays, because it prevents me and others from curing them of their Kaam, just like I don't like closet-atheist punjabis.

Wow, just wow. Name calling? I thought this was Sikh forum not some trashy Desi/Asian forum.

There's nothing in SGGS ji that supports either side. This is why I said this issue has nothing to do with spiritual, but more to do with cultural. It's obvious majority of Sikhs coming from Punjabi/Indian background where homosexuality is looked down on wouldn't support Gay marriages or Gay Sikh in general. This is why homosexuality wouldn't be accepted in Sikh community not because it's wrong in spiritual/religious context.

I personally don't care enough if homosexuality is right or wrong in Sikh context, but you and anyone else on here can't stop others forming their own groups that will support homosexuality in the long term. So why bother fighting it? Why not worry on more pressing issues in our community than this issue which is turning into another "table and chairs in Gurdwara" issue?

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
