I would even postulate that the western feminist have not thought how they were manipulated into becoming what the men wanted :sexual playthings by pushing for the pill, abortions etc ...also shoulders to push their real duties off onto:it allowed men to be irresponsible, unreliable and ultimately non-committed to marriage . which then lead to undermining women further by leaving them holding the baby literally, forced to be an economic slave to industries who further pushed poorer women down the social pegging and into poverty. The vote may have been won but only in a few countries...education is still not universal, meaningful and until adulthood in many nations. The girls are still being exploited by child marriage, trafficking, prostitution and dying in their thousands everyday. When ALL women have the kind of respect Guru Nanak Devji gave them and protection as Guru Gobind SIngh ji gave then I will say feminism has succeeded but so far I am not impressed.

Great post- agree completely

A big reason why some men may be non-commital to marriage is because a lot of the laws are so against husbands and fathers that a lot of men are scared of getting married that they will be taken to the cleaners and they lose their home, lose access of custody of their children and get hounded by the Child Support Agency. There are a lot of males that are opting out because it is not worth it.

No if men can get away with behaving irresponsibly they will... If men are of a Faith then they understand the importance of Marriage and will not use lame excuses such as you have given . Even if you are a common law husband you still have responsibilities to the family you create, what kind of man would abandon his children's needs so that the mother has to resort to reporting him to the CSA? ...BTW you are better off paying for half your kids' upkeep if you really care about them, rather than the CSA as it will pocket this and give the mother little money thus the kid still doesn't get helped.

You make it look like everything is the man's fault and women can do no wrong.

What about the men that pay alimony and get no visitation rights.

Looks like men are seen as walking wallets.

Justice system is biased against men

really 3% conviction rate for reported and investigated rapists with average jailtime served as 1year ? widespread trafficking and grooming gangs with teflon-like immunity to prosecution , please don't generalise I personally know a family whose Dad was awarded custody of the kids and gets alimony from the wife and child support ... not all things are so bleak for guys times are moving on ... but still the ideal world would be: slow to marry, and work to make it last ; like our oldies ...too many people these days are fickle in nature .

1. Rape cases are different than most in that they don't typically have witnesses and end up being "he said, she said" type cases. Also, what does a low rape conviction rate have to do with bias against men. Its not like only men rape

It usually isn't just "he said this and she said that" there's quite a lot of analysis done. Rape tests, DNA tests, mark diagnosis extra. The main problem is most of this evidence has been or can be classed as extremely circumstantial. Obviously not DNA (such as residue) but a good amount of other factors can be there. Rape convictions are pretty hard to prove but in most cases it's harder for woman. Especially in Asian cultures. So really saying it's skewed in favor of men or woman is overly simplifying things.

in terms of the Justice system it varies from country to country. I live in the UK and I feel in certain areas men are given an advantage and vice versa for woman. Obviously this is a flaw and should be changed. But it's still a tad better than places like say India where woman are treated like stones and kicked from place to place. Or in this case department to department.

meant that the law is slow to move on Crimes against women too , there is a definite bias in murders of spouses female kills male the book gets chucked at her; Male kills female he is out in seven years or less. women's character, dress etc always get dragged into divorces as to prove unsuitability of parenting by guys why? ...I could stack many examples up and so could you for guys the truth is we all want the same things , someone to share a life with, have a meeting of mind with and head towards Waheguru together hopefully, if Kids come along great, if not still great ...life isn't meant to be an all-out no holds barred power struggle with your life partner , we all have ups and downs, make mistakes , need understanding and support, the occasional "come on snap out of the 'poor-MEs' " but ultimately they are our sangat and should be selected well and with that aim . There are no differences only that which our egos create...
