What I've learnt from old katha recordings is that you can either express that energy in kaam or naam. We have to close the nine doors so the energy goes to the 10th.

I think this Shabad leans towards saying to preserve sexual fluid. Also seems like second line might back up my point. But I might be misinterpreting.

ਬਿੰਦੁ ਨ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਭਾਖਿਆ ॥ He does not preserve his semen and seed, and does not chant the Shabad.

ਪਵਨੁ ਨ ਸਾਧਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਨ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ॥ He does not control his breath; he does not worship and adore the True Lord.

ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਲੇ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੈ ॥ But one who speaks the Unspoken Speech, and remains balanced,

And

What I'm getting out of that Shabad is that this battle lasts until you're at the higher stages when naam is pargat inside (usually beginning with anhad naad)

ਪਵਣੈ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਦੇਹੁਰੀ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਸਚੁ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥੫॥ The body is under the power of the breath, according to the True Sign inscribed upon your forehead. ||5||

Well my username isn't, "Jacoff" but I most likely would admit my problem to only a few folk, but never recommending it for Kaam.
