The Islamic perspective on marriage has been explained to me as thus:

A non Muslim woman can marry a Muslim man and stay non Muslim because the religion of the children will follow that of the father and hence the children will be Muslims.

A Muslim woman can marry a non Muslim man but the man must convert to Islam so that again the religion of the children is guaranteed to become Islam because that is the religion of the father.

I was chatting to a Somali colleague (not friend) at work the other day and somehow the chat turned towards Islam/ Isis etc.

He came out with the usual Isis is a CIA/ Mossad invention and nothing to do with Islam bu11sh1t and then went on to say that Islam will take over the whole of western Europe by birth rates alone.

I said the only thing that holds Islam together is the fact you threaten to kill anyone who leaves it and you impose blaspemy laws on anyone who criticises it to which he said I was a liar and I didn't understand anything.

I obviously rattled his cage because he then had to start using the white girls converting to Islam as an insult to me. He was basically saying "how do you feel about all those white girls converting and going off with Muslim men?"

My reply was well all these thick and retarded white girls have to go somewhere, it's good that there is a religion such as yours that will absorb all the rejects, thicko's and general bottom feeders of society.

He didn't really have a reply to add other than again to state that Islam will be in full control of western Europe in a couple of generations simply through larger birthrates and then he walked off.

I have noticed that as a white man whenever I engage people like Somali's or Pakistani's in religious debate they always have to throw a few white girl insults at me, I used to get angry but now I just laugh at them for having to stoop so low.

They use tactics they know will stir the emotions, making the other person respond in a way that puts them on the front foot. Best to keep calm and play them at their own game. If they realise they can't get at you, it frustrates them no end. They thrive on exploiting the weakness of their opponents. No weakness (or at least don't show them any), no victory for them.

I've never encountered a Somalian. What are they like in comparison to their Pakistani cousins in terms of temperament, manners, and general conduct? Are they loyal party members too, lol?

The classic Norman Tebbit test, hehe. Although, I despise cricket so I don't know what that says about me. It's great to play, but an absolute bore to watch.

Well, if these Somalians see themselves as "brothers" in Islam of the Pakistanis and Bangladeshis, I'd be curious to see the reaction of the elders of the aforementioned two groups if one of these Somalians was to propose marriage or even attempt to court a fellow Muslim from the Pakistani or Bangladeshi community. I have a sneaking suspicion cultural ties would trump any over-arching religious ties on the part of the Pakistanis and the Bangladeshis. That would go some way to break them out of the smug illusion that they are equals in the eyes of their fellow Muslims... that is unless I'm being cynical.
