Willenhall Temple Parking Issue

While I agree it is very wrong and stupid if they are refusing parking to people who they consider are not Sikhs, it also seems to me like you're pretty anti-Singhs. Not only do their actions seem to annoy you, but also their apperance.

If you were only as enthusiastic in admitting that he was wrong as you are in defending him

Nah you are causing embarrassment for yourself by crying like a baby here.

The truth always hurts

Whoever it is that stopped you is an absolute, in his attempts to be "super sikh" he has forgotten even basic Sikhi principles. Not once did I defend him. I just found that some of what you said really matched what some anti-sikhs that ran some gurdwaray here say.

Thank you finally someone agrees that his actions were wrong.

Its ironic that when this same car park was been brought the same committee was very vocal in saying that every household should donate £1000 towards it.

I was personally instrumental in the purchase of this car park.

Rest assured that I am as anti Sikhs as Osama bin Laden was pro American. Having read back on some of my posts i can understand why you would come to that conclusion. However what does rattle me is these people who think they are above others just be cause they appear to be in authority.

It's the committee clashes again as usual. To other posters I think Dr C is not belittling Sikhs as a whole but because of the experience he has had with the car park issue I feel it's just a few involved that have upset him. I see passion for humanity and righteousness coming thru his posts. Whatever the issue is I hope it gets sorted as these committee issues seem to be in few gurdwaras.

I don't think this is a Singh vs Mona argument at all. It seems, as simran345 bhenji says above, it's a committee issue. I reckon if a Singh from a rival committee faction had driven into the carpark, even he'd have been refused entry just for being from the other group. I'm speculating, but we've seen those committee skirmishes where the Singhs don't care who they abuse or hit; it's equal opportunity panga as far as they're concerned, Singh or not.

Its all on cctv i am reliable informed. I have been going to this gurdwara for over 15 years and what I don't expect is for some jumped up wannabe telling me that I am not a Sikh just because I don't have a distar. I have zero intrest in gurdwara poltics and all I ask for is 20 minutes or so in the morning sangat on a Sunday.

I don't understand, was this person a Sikh (no dastar) or was he a non-Sikh?

I can understand where the Singh is coming from. At my local Gurdwara, people just use the car park to go to the shops. The car park is property of the Gurdwara, for people who want to go to the Gurdwara. It is right that the sangat stops people who aren't going to the Gurdwara from parking there, it just blocks up spaces.

If this is the case, then the Singh could have phrased his reasoning in a better way.

If they were preventing a non-Sikh going to the Gurdwara, then that is not how a Sikh should act.

S'all good brother, I dislike those types just as much as you, a lot of these committee walay need a good beating. You should definitely confront them, these fob uncles need to be told off. If they yell or try to slap (really all they can do lol), lay them out.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
