All that actually proves is their was no real expectation of conviction. And before I get accused of hating...I love NKJ, the anand they have bought me is literally unmatched by any other UK based Jatha.

But these evil doers have failed. The height of kaljug is in your face. welcome to Kaljug, my ardaas is may Sri Guru Bless NKJ to continue as the UK's most phenomenal music band, all thosenindaks such as www.sikhissuesblogspot.com well they can continue there cheap shots may the Sangat support those who have PROVEN great stuff

Your friend is a member of the jatha. What else did you expect him to say ?

Accumulate loads of audio recording and then edit it in such a way that it seems like far from the truth.

Thats not what the investigating police found. If they did, the people who made the allegations would, right now, be looking at very lengthy prison sentences.

But these evil doers have failed. I love listening to NKJ and I'm glad I'll have the chance to do so again now.

But, you're not looking at this the right way. There are things that NKJ themselves have said that must cause us alarm. The Police simply found that there isn't enough evidence to prosecute but that doesn't mean Harjinder Singh is a saint and we should ignore the things he does and says. He himself justified kissing men on the lips and called it 'mouth to mouth simran'. He himself said he likes to, and often does, tap boys in their genitals as a bit of harmless fun.

So, you can't keep blaming 'others with ulterior motives' and 'false recordings' all the time. You have to also be honest with yourself and admit that we, as a community, are perhaps showing a bit too much undeserved respect to many of these parcharaks.

We must always remember that he and they are not Gurus and not saints. They are simply men and must always be praised and criticised in equal measure.

Best thing the lad can do is get married and put all lingering salacious rumours to bed.

If I had a younger brother, a nephew, or a son who wished to join a similar outfit, I would think long and hard before allowing him to do so.

Not accusing/defending NKJ here, but the 'no further action' by CPS/Police doesn't prove that it did not happen, but rather that there is 'no realistic prospect of a conviction' due to a conflict of evidence from both sides.

To establish that someone is guilty under British law, the burden of proof is beyond all reasonable doubt.

Gavin accused Harinder of sexual assault and there were no witnesses on Gavin's behalf, the best recourse for Harinder's solicitor would have been to gather as many defence witnesses as possible by getting the police to take statements from Harinders' friends present in the room when it occurred. The statements, albeit from his friends would have countered the corroborative evidence of audio recordings and created a reasonable doubt, hence no criminal charge on Harinder. This appears to be what transpired here which is why the Police/CPS seem to have dropped the case.

However there are a number of unanswered questions from the voice recordings (ie mouth to mouth simran, testing kaam) which need to be addressed by the Panj Piyaare and Harinder, so that any issues can be ironed out. What goes on in the jatha shouldn't necessarily be kept quiet in the jatha.

Again not taking sides but pointing out the obvious..

Agree with everything else you said Singh-Comradz and I'm sorry to be nitpicking but I have to remind you that there is no such thing as 'British Law'. Such a concept does not exist. We here in England have English Law and the legal systems in America, Canada and Australia for example are also based on English Law. In Scotland however, given their historic ties to France, they have a totally different system of Law. Completely different in every way.

So, for example, while there is just a few miles separating the English city of Carlisle from Scotland, the system of Law in Carlisle is almost exactly the same as the system in Vancouver and Sydney whereas the system of Law just a few miles up the road in Scotland has far more in common with German or French Law.

So, to recap, there is no such thing as 'British Law'.

What this man said, also, i get really worried when people say issues like this should be sorted out within the community, they shouldn't, if someone is accused of a crime then it should be investigated by the proper authorities not a bunch of white bearded old cronies who's only interest is how fast the golak wil fill up.

As for stuff like the "mouth to mouth simran" and the rest of it, i think we go some real issues up in our community if this sort of stuff is going on but the problem is we have no authority in place to sort it out.

I dont know harinder singh personally or have any contact with nkj. But a person is innocent until he is proven guilty. But desis think the opposite "you are guilty until proven innocent". People here already seemed to have made up their minds that he is guilty. Unfortunately this has become our mindset. That's why we see so many Punjabis making character assassination videos on youtube of falana tamkana EXPOSED!

Expose this expose that. This is what jananis in the kitchen do, not warriors of Dasmesh jee.

That new type of jananification of our once manly khalsa is especially visible on youtube channels like Sikh Voice or that Sikh Issues blog.

No Johnny. I really don't think you have correctly grasped anything said here by anybody. My fear is that you might still mistakingly be focussing on the court case details, which were very different to the 2 issues being mentioned on this thread (below):

  • Harjinder Singh himself, from his own mouth, has talked about how it is part and parcel of Sikhi to kiss another man on the lips and refers to this as "mouth to mouth simran"
  • Harjinder Singh himself, from his own mouth, has talked about how he often likes to tap his "boys" on their genitals as a bit of horseplay and morale booster.

Is there a link to the recordings? I've only heard his "reply"

I agree with jagsaws points.. very simple and to the point.

Not going to bother reiterating jagsaws points so..

those claiming he should get married is pathetic, if one has homosexual tendencies its irrelevant if he marries a women..

how many sampradas or mahapurshs wack private parts with stick to test kaam..unless he puts himself on mahapursh level who has defeated kaam...also please explain the kissing simran..(this canjot be denied)

lastly the whole jatha do not look like sher, just a buch of insecure men who feed off each other to boost their own confidence/ego..

I cannot belive the amount of blind followers he has.. thats my rant

but on a more balanced note.if you like his stuff, listen then go see where his shabads come from..guru granth sahib ji...then read contemplate and try being that special rose you think he is...

I'm not a blind follower or even a "follower" of any sort. Dont know him or even met him in my life. But all you and others here are basing your opinion on is based on an accusation that has not been proven to be the truth. So it seems a dude makes an accusation(without any proof) and all you guys just blindly jump on in saying he's guilty.

These types of accusations are very serious. It can literally ruin someone's life. One should at least form an opinion based on proof and solid evidence.

Annoying isnt it..just like some thinking he is complety innocent, firstly that he has a huge following and now as cps decided not to take case forward..

Im not judging him solely on the accusers allegations.. more too it...

Ok..make a false allegation against your neighbour, see how far it goes...if it is a lie police would not even charge..forget magistrates and crown court...

For charges to be made, for magistrates to say it is a serious crime it goes to crown court 'THINGS HAPPENED'..question is of consent and witnesses..evidence was subjective....when magistrates pass it to crown it means they belive there uis a case but it is serious and needs to ge tried by jury...now cps decide not to take case forward as evidence not strong enough to convict.

i personally know people who have been charged with gbh but case dropped at crown..many reasons including wrong charges and not enough to convict when they were guilty as hell...

ppl use your brain.. if you go to doctor saying you yave leg pain he is not going to send you for an mri is he, first he gives painkillers etc then says ok you need to be referred.. likewise police would not refer to magistrates unless enough evidence to charge and magistrates forwarded to crown as they knew it was a serioys crime with over 6 months custodial sentence if found guilty...

Im sorry for dumb analogy but sone people are, well not so bright to put simple things together..

    • I guess if it is OK for recently arrived Punjabis to settle down with East European women and have Sikh kids then there is nothing wrong in settling down with a Chinese woman. The Chinese are ultimately a dharmic people (if we take the current political situation out of the question) and have always been interested in what happens west of their border.
    • Tbh, even "our own" can't be trusted. I personally stopped giving a damn what other people thought a long time ago, especially when it comes to rishta/marriage.
    • In ultimate truth time is an illusion (Akal). All there is, is present the now. God created itself in many forms to create contrast ( limiting itself in forms)
    • There is a massive difference between the Sikh experience in the UK vs the US. The UK is a much better place to be a Sikh. The biggest difference-maker is population density. According to the 2011 census, there were (at the time) about 432,000 Sikhs in the UK. Accounting for some population growth and uncounted people (such as illegal immigrants), there are probably at least 500,000 Sikhs in the UK today. Now take into consideration that the UK has a population of about 67 million crammed into a relatively small island. And also consider that most of the Sikhs live in certain parts of the UK that have relatively large Sikh populations (e.g. West London, Birmingham area, etc.). There are not official figures on Sikhs in the US, but based on data about people from and Indian background and Punjab-speaking background, 250,000 is probably a very conservative upper bound on the US Sikh population. And then consider that the US is a massive country and has a population of about 330 million. As a consequence, Sikhs are much less visible and much less powerful (as a community) in the US than they are in the UK. In the UK, I feel like most people have an awareness of who Sikhs are. When I have been in the UK, it is a bit of a relief to not feel like I have to constantly point out that I'm not an Arab or a Muslim. In the US, nobody had a clue what a Sikh was when I was growing up. It is getting a bit better now, but it's still not great.   Anyway, aside from how Sikhs are viewed by the general population, I think the population density of Sikhs is most important for the Sikh community itself. It makes for a greater support system for more religiously inclined Sikhs. Further, the critical mass enables people who don't come from religious families to nevertheless gain exposure to Sikhi and get into it as they grow older. That's probably why examples of monay who become Singhs are much more frequent in the UK than in the US.
