No theyre not equal. They've all been edited by man. Gurbani has not.

If today you write something that preaches the love of god is the true path to Vaheguru, would it be equal to Gurbani?

Poster Akali Fauj, I beg you to next time when you try to call me out at-least read what I write. Muhammed,Jesus, the Vedas were all stated to have been God's work but the writers and composers let their pride install other more redundant aspects in there. Do I believe their equality to Gurbani is real? no I believe Gurbani is untampered and as a result pure from corruption and in extension Superior. Do I believe however that a muslim or a hindu who will pray to god with complete love and devotion will be heard? yes they will, doing a Namaaz or even a Pooja towards god and no one else is exactly what Gurbani teaches us to do so by extension yes they too can experience the same sensations of the love of god that we can. The methods to praise god are endless.

I apologize if my wording sucked but that was essentially the message of my posts.

To answer your question I am not a messenger of god, time and time again Gurbani asserted that these texts were an attempt to establish a direct path to god. There is a kernel of truth in them and for a true follower of god it is enough for them to see which is in line with Gurbani and which is not. That is why our Guru Granth Sahib is composed of other writers who don't associate themselves with Sikhism but god.

If I were to write something, no it would be redundant. But if its written in texts that Gurbani has confirmed with authenticity then yes their true.

You should now answer my question. Do you think that anyone before the Guru Sahib got Mukhti or not?

The Highest word is the word of god. God has many names, many forms of meditating. Saying that Salvation is only possible for a Sikh is ignorant.

Everyone is destined for Saachkhand, and since Guru Sahib and Vaheguru are beyond time they are always with everyone but their love is more accessible to someone who has pure qualities e.g. compassion, innocence, humility and etc.

Is Gurbani equal to other religious texts?

Well, it depends who you ask

generally people from different faiths are going to say that their religious text is superior in one way or another,

it also depends on how you approach religion, if you approach religion with blind faith and scold people for the slightest critique then generally you've adopted faith as an extension of your ego, for some people criticizing their religion is like insulting them as a person. And perhaps some of these people might even see their own religious text as the only divinely anointed one.

But I think one should approach religion and religious text with critical thinking and objectivity. There is good and bad in many religious texts,

No religious text can be 100% argued with evidence of its divine inspiration, it's faith that makes a person believe if it is or not.

So for us to judge other texts is fruitless cause in the bigger scheme of things what do we know? Only god knows.

In my opinion I think people should read as many religious texts as they can, take nuggets of inspiration wherever you can find it and weight what you believe with your moral compass.

Gurbani is peerless. I know we Sikhs have a penchant for fairness and being just, but tooting our own horn when it comes to issues such as these is nothing to be ashamed of. I can't abide blind partisanship just for the sake of asserting superiority over others, and as others have noted other faiths contain righteous truths too. However, Gurbani is the complete truth IMO. Recite it, contemplate it, study it, and watch how your mind is opened.

A question that branches out from the query posed by the OP: Does an evil Sikh have a higher, more favourable status in the house of God than a good non-Sikh?

Apologies for going to extremes and the heavy reductionism, but once the question is diluted with caveats it begins to get a bit vague.

I don't know the answer to the above question, but it's one that I've been wondering for a while, that's why I asked the question in the first instance.
