Sikh Girls Marrying Muslim Boys

Maybe u need to look a bit harder, theres quite a few.

The last vid u uploaded, was a sikh boy marryin an ismaeli girl. Anyways, whether its apna boy or girl, these sham marriages in gurdwaras shud not b happnin. Ive also noticed these youtube sikh/muslim marriages seem to ALL be in n.america, not here in uk. U wud not see a sikh marryin a muslim here in uk gurdwaras, 1 of the persons will convert to either religion. Christians/atheist/hindus etc all seem to get away with marryin sikhs in gurdwaras for some reason.

If there are Sikhs converting to Islam through marriage . My question is what type of Sikhs are converting to Islam the most?

Is it the educated professional type Sikhs ie accountants, doctors, lawyers. I know of a young Sikh woman who is a GP from hounslow. She is married to a muslim. I dont know how these girls are so shamless and have no heart by dragging their parents to a temple to watch them get married to a muslim. she has not converted to Islam. But who knows what will happen in the future. that last I time I saw her she was celebrating Eid with at her inlaws house. Her parents are Khatri/Arora Sikhs. and if anyone is wondering not that it matters. she is not the most pretty of girls . just average looking.

She was married in the Gurdwara to the Pakistani Muslim and her parents seemed happy enough or maybe that was for show. But are we starting to see this in the educated types aswell now or is this a one off? Its funny on her facebook page she has all kind of Sikh support and community pages on Sikhs and nothing on Islam. maybe she feels guilty about marrying the muslim so she is trying to make up for it by posting Sikh articles and pages ect.

I remember it was usually the Sikhs who you would find on street corners ie trash girls. who were the ones who usually ran off and married muslims. either way it is bad. But was just wondering if this is spreading to the supposedly more sensible educated Sikhs.

The Khatri/Arora/Ahluwalia are part of the trading classes. They mix up intermarriages between Sikhs and HIndus so they are kind used to this kind of thing. You will notice that the Bollywood Industry is by and large a Khatri dominated industry with the relevant Kapoors and Chopras and you will see the intermarriages with the Khans. With these types money and social mobility is more important than Sikhi.

The fact that someone is educated is no guarantee that they will make sensible informed decisions based on common sense. The Punjabi expression "parrhe likeh unparr" comes to mind.

I would also think that there being no strong father figure would have an impact.

Love. Or an attraction to the individual. Unless the Sikh female has been targeted for conversion and subsequent marriage, I don't think there's anything sinister about it. It happens I guess. You could argue about lax parental control, etc, but having ventured into our community after a fair amount of time, I've noticed a huge drop in the prominence our lot place on religion and culture in regards to dating and marrying within its confines. Things have changed and will continue to change as the years go by. The "fear" has begun to disappear.

To me i dont think it depends on whether some1 is working class or middle class or super duper rich, it plainly comes down to whether ur parents can b arsed to educate their kids and whether ur willin to dig up info on ur ancestors n ur dharam.

I GUARANTEE u, show these $luts/man-$luts a story/video of partition, where sikh women killed themselves rather than be raped/converted into islam or mir mannus jail where sikh men/women/kids were made shaheed for their loyalty to sikh, and u watch how teary eyed these coconuts will become! Some of these fools r so thick/dumb that if u told em "hari singh nalwa was our 7th guru", they wud believe u!

BUT BUT BUT, then again we have very stupid parents givin birth to stupid atheistic kids. I have met 'mone' Sikhs who don't know much about Sikhism beyond Gurdwara functions are very loyal and would never leave Sikhism. OTOH, I have known those who were a bit more religious (some with turban and beard) who have left Sikhism and converted to other religions.

I suspect it's more about reinforcement within a family. A conservative and strong family unit would never allow it and those who go against it would be banished from the family. OTOH those who are more liberal in their outlook will this experience this more often then not. It is this 'negative reinforcement' that reduces cross cultural marriages and conversions.

I did not mean all monne are disloyal or that all turban/beard Sikhs are loyal. Turban and beard does not mean one is religious. 90% girls whose brothers and fathers are turban wearing are as religious as the girls that come from the average mona family. Barely any of those girls are Nitnemi even though from the outside it may appear the family is religious. When I mean religious I mean those who at least do Nitnem daily. The only religious thing most Sikh girls know how to perform is to matha tek at the Gurdwara. And that's it. I know girls from my relatives who have married out or who have left Sikhi. None of them even knew how to do Paath. There is a reason why Guru Sahib made Paath/Nitnem an essential part of the Rehit Maryadha. The chances of a nitnemi Sikh girl converting out of the religion is greatly reduced as compared to if she did not do Paath.

Then there is the other factor which I have noticed that causes girls to marry out. Many of them had family problems at home i.e. father mother always fighting with each other, alcoholic father, mother too busy in chuglis or concerned about the latest Punjabi suit but not giving enough time to their children. Many of these girls grow up wanting escape and want a bollywood type hero rescuing them. They will elope with the first guy who gives them attention. This happened to a relative's daughter of mine. The mother father in this case were the average Punjabi parent. Partying, drinking alcohol, and they fought with each other quite often especially when the father would get drunk. The mother was no better. Instead of being watchful of her daughter, she was more busy in doing chuglis about her nanaan and jaithaani and competing with the on who has a better Punjabi suit. There daughter who was absolutely not religious, was not given any attention fell a victim to love Jihad after she ran away from home with some Pakistani guy and married him after she converted to Islam.
