A very poor way to cover your shortfalls.

We are more in numbers so we have to be less faithful to our religion and have more liberty to allow Sikh girls to marry Muslims.

What a pitiful state of affairs for you guys.

You can't really be this dense...No one said that having more Sikhs means we can afford to be less devout. If NZ had 400,000 Sikhs, I can bet you there would be A LOT more than the odd few interreligion marriages you guys have now. Why dont you find us numbers for interreligion marriage in NZ and England, then we can see what the percentages are based on each nations Sikh population.

Explain how more Sikhs would require more interfaith marriage? Your just saying the same thing without explaining why?

TBH bro, i think the uk, has had to deal with A LOT of bakwaas in past 20+yrs with whole racism from goreh, grooming fiascos, to corrupt gurdwaras who have single handedly held the sikh community in the 1960s, despite it being the new millenium, whilst every other communities had stayed upto date in that respective decade/years. Watever problems we r havin r bein brought upon by current oldies n misguided coconut youths. The current english parchar n progressiveness of sikh community in the past 10yrs tho, leaves me in no doubt, that the current 5-15yr kids will benefit from being the best equipped sikhs we've had. i jus reckon personally we gotta ride out the next 5-10yrs, before we see real fruits of progression. A time where sikhs, who r tryna correct the wrongs of the oldies, wont b called "extremists", but the righteous ppl.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of young guys in UK are more consciously aware of who they are and what they have to do. Got a lot of youth stepping up, I hope you guys see more progress, can't see a well established Sikh community detrioriate.

It's not a "requirement." It's simple numbers, the more the people, the more chances there are for occurrences of interreligion marriages. You simply can't compare a population of 20k to 400k.

That's going backwards though, if there are less people there would more chances of mixing then more, for example minorities usually intermix more than the majority.

Ok, based on your theory.

If in NZ 100 out of every 1000 Sikhs marry outside of Sikhi, thats 2000 interreligion marriages. And a higher rate

If in UK, 50, out of every 1000 Sikhs marry outside of Sikhi, thats 20,000 IR marriages, lower rate but higher number simply because so many more people.

Maybe, we're not on the same page, I don't know.

I understand that point; however, I was explaining some other situation, in both cases Islam still has higher numbers and less interfaith marriages by #'s. So it's not fully based on how large a group is, Afghan Sikhs don't go around mating Muslim Afghans do they?
