A hypothetical scenario

You are upset because you just learned that your daughter is engaged to a non-Sikh man. What solutions would you undertake to unsure your daughter's fiance embraces Sikhism.

A solution to these types of marriages are to teach the children about sikhi. But if the parents are dumb then how can they teach their kids about sikhi? Until the parents know about sikhi these type of marriages will continue to happen.

Turn ur back on her/him just as she did the guru.

The harder nonnegotiable line works better then "oh my kids don't listen to me so I'll disrespect all those sacrifices made to get me where I am and let my daughter/son sell out"

question and let me tell you why.

First of all you give your thread a title that suggess the current problem doing the rounds in the media is because we have an aversion to 'our girls marrying white and black men'. Our intellectuals have spent the past week trying to teach our enemies, and the media who get their stories from our enemies, that they have got it wrong, i.e we are not racists. Our issue and argument is purely that such marriages must take place in a Registry Office and not in a place of worship where sacred vows are made in front of our living Guru, i.e the lie and sham that both bride and groom are Sikhs.

But tell me, how the hell we gonna get our point across to the media when people like you within don't even understand the issue ? :surrender:

I Mean seriously, just what kind of a no-brain dufus are you 'sikhingthertruth' that made you make a thread like this ? You look at 4 days worth of threads and messages on this forum explaining the Sikh stance on this issue and yet on the 5th you still decide to go down this route ? The mind boggles as to what it would take to make you understand a simple point.

most worrying when people on this forum do not understand what the discussion is. IT IS NOT THE FACT THAT SIKH BOYS/GIRLS ARE MARRYING PARTNERS FROM OTHER FAITHS. IT IS ABOUT NOT CARRYING OUT BEADBI OF THE SUCH IN FROM OF GURU MAHARAJ. THERE IS ANOTHER PERSON ON ANOTHER TOPIC ON THIS SITE WHO DOES NOT UNDERSTAND EITHER. READ AND YOU WILL SEE.

In terms of a possible solution to the wider issue ...

a possible idea that the Panth should look into possibly is:

1. Anand Karaj being reserved for Amritdhari Sikhs

2. A Sikh Marriage Blessing Ceremony for all Kesdhari, Sehajdhari and those marriages where a former non-Sikh spouse is not becoming Amritdhari. We should still strive to ensure education about Sikhi for such couples to realise the importance of raising their children as Sikhs so that we can do greater good for humanity via Sarbat da Bhala.

Simply blocking all those non-Amritdhari's that wish for their marriage to be blessed at a Gurdwara is a recipe for disaster that will simply alienate them and their children away from Sikhi permanently leading to the guaranteed demographic decline of Diaspora Sikh populations.

Why do you have 'aversion' towards your girls marrying white or black men but not torwards boys doing the same thing? This is very unfair and biased way to react to this situation. Who are your 'enemies' your intellectuals have been trying to teach? You are confusing. If a sikh boy or girl decides to marry outside of their religion or race then they should be told in perspicuous terms that they will not be allowed to have a anand karaj at their local sikh gurdwara because of the edict. They should marry at the RO to prevent the mockery of sham vows in front of the sikh living Guru. There is nothing wrong in making them do this ie marrying at the RO.

Don't worry there are plenty more 'dufus' thinking this way in this community and try explaining this to them, it is a joke.
