I believe the Sakhi took place in Dera Baba Nanak. It's part of the janamsakhis which have been compiled. It's one of the more consistent ones too. Guru Nanak Dev Ji did disappear for 3 days and when he came back he proclaimed all man is equal and one. That was when he started uttering Japji Sahib which was handed down to him by Akal Purkh.

Guru Nanak used to bath in the river every morning for Ishnaan I believe.

A thing to note is that Guru Sahib's body disappeared too, During the time after he passed his light onto Guru Angad Dev Ji. So it's all that plausible.

have you read the entire bible? Anyone who truly reads the Bible leaves Christianity for a reason you know.

Separation is an illusion. Reading gurbani one will clearly understand that Guru Sahibs without any doubt knew we are always united. Most of us live now in the unconscious experience of that unification. It is also possible to live in the physical body in conscious union with All That Is; in the conscious awareness of the ultimate truth; in the conscious awareness of who you really are. If ones belief is based on separation he/she will experience life as that superior, inferior, up down, here, there, judging, condemning........you are here there and everywhere all the time because you are it. There is only one of us.

When poets are asked about their process, they will also say such things as the words 'come to them' (remember that Gurbani is written in poetic verse). That doesn't mean to say that some higher power, or the object of their muse, dictated their poems to them word for word.

The Sacred Naam acted as an inspiration to Guru Sahib when he was composing his Bani. The Bani didn't directly proceed from the mouth of God himself, but rather from the divine inspiration and ecstasy which Waheguru caused to take hold within Guru Sahib.

The tuk which you have provided doesn't emphatically state that Guru Sahib received dictation ad verbum from God. Muhammad however claimed he literally had a conversation with God after he supposedly flew to Jannah astride Buraq.

First of all, you make the mistake of treating Bani as simple poetry. Bhagat Kabeer says in Gauri Raag of Guru Granth Sahib:

ਲੋਗੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਇਹੁ ਗੀਤੁ ਹੈ ਇਹੁ ਤਉ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥

People believe that this - Bani - is just a song, but it is Brahm Beechar

ਹਉ ਢਾਢੀ ਵੇਕਾਰੁ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਹੈ ਕੈ ਵਾਰ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ॥

I was a minstrel, out of work, when the Lord took me into His service. To sing His Praises day and night, He gave me His Order, right from the start.

I'm still not convinced that the meeting between Guru Maharaj and the Almighty would have involved them actually talking to one another though, and the Sakhi by no means insinuates this. I don't suppose we'll ever know the exact details of what transpired in those three days.

I am in no doubt as to its origin, I only wondered about the exact method of its dissemination. To call Bani poetry is not to diminish its importance by any means brother. That's just what it is - Divine Poetry.

I don't see why God's giving an Order to Maharaj would necessitate some exchange between the two.

To take an example, how does one realize if they have become a Brahmgiani? I don't think you'll find any who claim that God suddenly began speaking to them "Ding Ding Ding! You've won the Brahmgiani Grand Prize!". They know because they feel something quite unlike anything they've ever felt before. They know the Hukam because they can feel it within themselves. Guru Sahib may have felt the Hukam within him.

Nope, Jesus didn't have sex with a nine year old girl, but he did come up with the idea of torturing people forever in hell.
