Guru Purnima, for example is like a mother´s day, a father´s day, celebrated each year .

It is celebrated once a year, by the disciples usually hindus, in remeberance of their spiritual gurus, mostly past.

But then as several comunities may live together, and enjoin amicabally in each others´ celebrations, and others knowing us as sikh disciples of Guru Jee, think we would like to celebrate it with them, in the name of Guru Jee.

For me, it is healthy having and keeping good relations with all other human beings, but, we know within, that our relation with Guru Jee, is not limited to any particular day, but rather by His Grace, it is a relation of 24/7 / 30/365.

Others may look and respect us, and think we are like them in that sense, and invite us to celebrate with them that day as per tribute to our Guru Jee.

Let them believe so, there is no harm in it. Let everyone be happy, as each one wants, as long as there are no hard and ill feelings.

Only we know, what is the depth in our relation with Guru Jee.

One thing I like from hindus is, as in comparison with other dharams, is that, they are cool and respect others beliefs, they even put our Guru Jees images in their houses as of their own gods as well.

Some lines, in dedication to our beloved Guru Jee and Wahiguru Akal Purukh, though never enough.

KOEE AAN MILAWE MERA PEETAM PYARA.

HAU REHA NA SAKAA BIN DEKHEY PREETAMA.

HUN KADH MILIAYE PRIYA TUDH BHAGWANT

GURU MEREE POOJA, GURU GOBIND.

Raag Sorath Sree Guru Arjan Dev  Maharaj:

Jo Simarai This Kee Gath Hovai Oudhharehi Sagalae Kottaa

जो सिमरै तिस की गति होवै उधरहि सगले कोटा ॥१॥ रहाउ

One who remembers the Lord in meditation, is emancipated; millions have been saved in this way.

In this line above, Guru Jee is telling us something about how to acheive salvation once and forever in this human birth, if only, that is what we really want, otherwise the world is wide open for us to remain as much as possible in it.

He says. remembering Him in meditation, by the Simran of His Naam, millions have been saved, and  thus this is the eternal path for whosoever wishes so, there is no other way, neither was in the past, neither shall be in the future...

if  there was any other alternative, why would Guru Jee say: millions were saved in this way, which by itself is the highest, and unique path.

It is for us moorakhs, to see how much we have understood the Bani...

Law of Karma

After Kurukshetra war,
 *Dhritrarashtra* asked *Krishna*,
 “I had 100 sons.
 All of them were killed.
Why?

Krishna replied,
“50 lifetimes ago,
You were a hunter.
 While hunting,
You tried to shoot a male bird.
It flew away.
 In anger,
You ruthlessly slaughtered the 100 baby birds in the nest.
Father-bird had to watch in helpless agony.
Because you caused that father-bird the pain of seeing the death of his 100 sons,
You too had to bear the pain of your 100 sons dying.

*Dhritarashtra* said,
“Ok,
But why did I have to wait for fifty lifetimes?”
*Krishna* answered, “You were accumulating
' *Punya*' during the last
fifty lifetimes to get 100 sons -
Because that requires a lot of Punya .
Then you got the reaction for the *Paap*' (sin) that you have done fifty lifetimes ago.”

*Krishna* says in the Bhagavad-gita (4.17) *Gahana Karmano Gatih*
The way in which action and reaction works is very complex.
God knows best which reaction has to be given at what time in what condition.
 Therefore,
Some reaction may come in this lifetime,
Some in the next and Some in a distant future lifetime.

There is a saying,
*The mills of God grind slow*
but,
They grind exceedingly fine.”
So, every single action will be accounted for,
 Sooner or Later.

*Srimad Bhagavatam* gives example:
If we have a cowshed with 1000 calves and
If we leave a mother cow there,
She will easily find out where her calf is among those thousands.
She has this Mystical Ability.

Similarly,
Our *karma* will find us among the millions on this planet.
There may be thousands going on the road but only one meets with an accident.
It is not by chance,
it’s by *Karma*.

Thus,
the *Law of Karma* works exceedingly fine;
it may be! ' *Slow to Act*',
but ' *No one can Escape* '.

A reflection on God´s love

At the begining I was mistaken in 4 respects -

I concerned myself to remember God,

to know Him,

to love Him,

and to seek Him.

At the end, I saw that: God had remembered me;

His knowledge of me, preceded mine of Him,

His love had come before mine;

and He had sought me before I had sought Him.

 Bayazid (Persian sufi mystic  804-874)

* This only shows, the inmensity of Wahiguru´s Hukum, whatever love or devotion we offer Him, is much due to His Grace upon us, rather than our own petty merits.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
