Restore traditional Khalsa systems of selecting people to run the management of Sikh affairs. Remove the corrupt SGPC and release it's hold on Akal Takht.

The election system is not a traditional Khalsa system it is too open to corruption.

A lot of this is actually due to the short sighted and political naivety of the Singh Sabha movement.

After clearing out the Mahants... They were duped by the British (or they themselves were British chumchas), they handed control to SGPC who in turn are controlled by state government, who's members are elected I.e: puppets are put into positions.

You obviously have an axe to grind against the Singh Sabha. There is nothing wrong in the SGPC system, it has only been since Badal took over that the system has degenerated. The system is only as good as the people who have the final say in deciding on who in put in positions of responsibility. If people are ok with voting for those who ply them with alcohol and drugs in order to cast these people votes then the people themselves are at fault. At least the Mahants had the excuse that they had been in change since the days of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The criminals that hold office in the SGPC only got there through money and drugs.

Hopefully when Badal goes in 2017 and with Panthic parties united then the people will vote in better representatives the ones we have now. We in the west also have to get rid of the committees in the west which are cronies of Badal.

You just re-iterated my point, there are inherent problems with the way the SGPC system and the way it's members are elected. The voting system is easily manipulated by the issuing of drugs, alcohol and fake cults Babas/Deras controlling vote banks. Badal is not the main issue it's the system that allows manipulation.

Sikhs are not the majority in Punjab hence they can't control who gets elected and in turn whoever gets elected controls SGPC and hence the majority of Sikh institutions in Punjab.

Sikh affairs and their management should be the sole responsibility of the panth and trusted Gursikhs, not linked to the SGPC system I.e: directly controlled by the chief minister of Punjab who takes his orders from the Indian government.

Getting rid of Badal is not the solution, he is just a puppet, there are plenty more puppets that can take his place.

While the current corrupt SGPC election system is in place we cannot hope to put proper panthic individuals in charge of Akal Takht. Prime example they awarded Badal the title of panth Rattan, faqir e quam... What a joke... If that's not corrupt I don't know what is.

It's not the system that's the problem, it's the people.

S.G.P.C. the abbrevation for the SHIROMANI GURDWARA PARBANDHAK COMMITTEE. It is directly elected by an electorate of the Sikh Nation, male and female above 18 years of age who are registered as voters under the provisions of Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925. This act enables SGPC to control all the Historical Gurdwaras as well as Gurdwaras under Section 87 of this act. The elections to SGPC are held after every five years. SGPC is also called Parliament of the Sikh Nation. Now apart from the management of Gurdwaras, it runs many prestigious educational institutions including Medical colleges, Hospitals and many Charitable trusts.

The system is fine overall. It doesn't matter about Sikhs being minority or not, it's only Sikhs (Amritdhari + Sehajdhari/Kesdhari) who are allowed to vote in SGPC elections. And also, SGPC has it's own elections and can be independant from interference from Badal-type people if it wants to.

It's the so-called saintly people who themselves team up with Badal-type people.

And you're talking about puppets? The same people that are 'Panthic' and 'Gursikhs' and that you want controlling Sikh affairs/management....they themselves are the biggest puppets.

Not too long ago people wanted Gurbakhsh Singh (hunger strike) to become Jathedar and now people are calling him a traitor. Who is going to become leaders/managers/position holders?

Read the following articles and you will see, 99% of people are fake.

True!

Back to topic of RSS, it seems like everyone has a link to RSS. Recently Bhai Baldev Singh Vadala has said on video/recording that Hazoor Sahib or Patna Sahib (I forget which one he said) is going to be given to RSS and that other lands/buildings and institutions are going to be in the hands of companies.

Go through the following links, and it will be very clear that everyone has their hands dirty unfortunately. Even Khalsa College is in the hands of RSS.

Please once again, take the time to go through the following links, you will see how 99% of people are fake, very few keep it real.

Go through each link with an open mind, don't be stuck with a certain Baba or Jathebandi. Read the links with the thought in mind that your only alliance is with Vahiguru. Then the whole picture will be revealed to you about what is going on.

It's because in today's society, depraved violence is somehow not as bad as anything which offers the vaguest whiff of sexuality - i.e. parents will cover their children's eyes when some woman in a bikini flashes up on the TV screen, but they'll let them simulate mass murder in Grand Theft Auto. Very weird. Surely the taboo should be the other way round, no? Sex hurts nobody (most of the time). Violence, by definition, always hurts somebody (* not advocating that you allow your children to be exposed to filth*, only a re-examination of attitudes).

Exactly! It is a strange attitude, people should get their priorities right.

I do not like games like Grand theft auto, how does someone take enjoyment out of being a criminal? Would it be acceptable to allow rape in the game because that too is a criminal act?! Maybe it is not as worse but it is all vile criminal behaviour.

the joke was real good.

It was a funny joke, I wish I had got it the first time ,___,

When did that happen?

In regards to the comment made about harming certain individuals, see below:

What kind of joke is that? Jathedar of Akal Takhat Sahib being -------- is a funny joke? What if someone said that about other Badal/Governement people like Dhumma, Sant Samaj, etc...then let's see everyone's laughter! Most of you would be crying foul (what hypocrites!).

Jathedars, Granthis, Ardas Singhs, Ragis, etc, barely have any wiggle room. One moment they're given positions by SGPC, the next moment they're kicked out/moved around.

Obviously I would like them to stand up with courage and if they get kicked out, then so be it. However the reality is much different. They have immense previous Karma and are living MANY Sikhs' DREAM of being Jathedars, Granthis, Ardas Singhs, Ragis at Takhats and historical Gurdwaras. It would be hard for someone to sacrifice all of that. That's why you see people speak out after they have retired or after they have moved on from their position. It happens with all types of people all around the world (eg. politicians, doctors, lawyers, judges, police, accountants, journalists, religious workers, etc). It's very rare to see anyone to speak out in the first place and it's even more rare for someone to speak out while employed.

But that being said, sacrifices will be needed to fix the Sikh leadership/management situation. The only questions are 'who' and 'when'.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
