AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab (October 1, 2015)—A shocking video recording has recently begun circulating the internet in which ABP News India do a live interview of the Sirsa Dera chief, Gurmeet Ram Raheem. During the interview, recorded a few months ago, the Sauda Saadh discloses how members of the Jathedar camp had approached him in negotiating, what is believed to be, a pardon letter some time prior to last week’s developments.

Ram Raheem reveals in the interview how people from the Jathedar camp visited him on many occasions, coming back and forth with amendments to the letter, which he claims he had accepted at every stage. He says, “the negotiators didn’t find it necessary for me to visit the Akal Takht, they didn’t ask me to visit and the thought never crossed my mind, but they were okay with me submitting letters.”

The Akal Takht commands the ultimate respect of the Khalsa Panth, but its current appointed Jathedar, widely believed to be under the influence of Punjab’s politicians, has recently accepted a so-called “apology” from the Sauda Saadh without consulting the Sikh community. It is under mysterious circumstances the five Singh Sahibans at the Akal Takht were either forced or pressured to give a pardon to the Dera chief, who had hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community in 2007 when he attempted to imitate the tenth Guru. The highly controversial action by the Jathedars, considered to be traitorous by a large section of the community worldwide, is deemed to have been a political move in what many say is the result of closed door meetings to secure the Dera vote bank ahead of the 2017 state elections. Major Sikh organisations from across the world and high profile Parcharaks have all condemned the decision, whilst the likes of the DSGMC have gone out their way to defend the move, evidently due to their political affiliations with the ruling Akali Dal (Badal). Even Akali Dal loyalists like the Taksal’s Harnam Singh Dhumma of the Sant Samaj have taken a stand against the move.

The Punjabi Tribune has recently revealed that Sukhbir Badal, deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and President of the Akali Dal (Badal), had closed door meetings with the Dera chief a couple of weeks ago in Mumbai where the issue of pardon and release of the cult leaders film in Punjab was discussed. After the Akal Takht management issued the pardon on 24 September 2015, within 24 hours Ram Raheem’s second film ‘MSG-2 The Messenger’ is allowed to be released in Punjab. Soon after, Ram Raheem instructs his followers to withdraw all pending cases registered against Sikhs.

This interview, recorded before the current happenings, positively corroborates the Jathedar’s and their political leaders have been colluding with the Sirsa Dera behind closed doors, without taking the Khalsa Panth into confidence. The Akal Takht certainly did not get an unexpected letter, but was most likely an architect in this whole ploy to fool the Punjabi’s.

I read this today and was so surprised , are they just avoiding the politics or have they lost the plot ?

Firstly baba balbir Singh is not the jathedar. Akali baba prem Singh is jathedar of Budha dal.

Secondly that article is wrong. Please read the real punjabi article. In that it says that they respect Akaal takhat but they do not like this decision.

Even as the SGPC today rubbished media reports regarding the resignation of Takht Shri Damdama Sahib Jathedar Giani Gurmukh Singh over the controversy over pardon to the Dera Sacha Sauda chief, the row has brought to the fore cracks in the Jathedar’s family. His sister has come out in the open against him. SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar put all the speculations regarding Gurmukh Singh’s resignation to rest by clarifying that the Jathedar had met him and discussed the scenario but none of the Jathedars had offered to quit. He said all the Sikh high priests were united and so was the family of Giani Gurmukh Singh. However, Jathedar Giani Gurmukh Singh’s sister Bibi Sharanjit Kaur and her husband Giani Sukhjinder Singh, who is a granthi at the Golden Temple, are displeased with the Jathedar for being a part of the decision to grant pardon to the dera chief. Talking to a section of media, Giani Sukhjinder Singh said the ties would remain sour till Giani Gurmukh Singh clarified his position on the issue. Meanwhile, activists of Sikh Sadbhavna Dal led by their leader Bhai Baldev Singh Vadala visited the residence of Bibi Sharanjit Kaur and presented a ‘siropa’ (robe of honour) to her for speaking up against the decision. Dal Spokesperson Balvinder Singh said they had decided to felicitate Bibi Sharanjit Kaur with Mai Bhago Award.

Against clergy’s decision: Sikhs in large number gathered at Gurdwara Paka Sahib at Madeke village in Moga on Thursday. They rejected the decision of Sikh clergy to pardon Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a blasphemy case of 2007. They gathered there to attend a three-day religious “deewan”, but the controversy over Sikh clergy’s decision dominated the event. Tribune photo

Thank you Veer ji ,

It shook me to read that ladli fauj would accept such a non-maryada hukhamnama . Please can you explain how the structure of the fauj is now and who are the jathedars as it is hard to work out false claims with holes in current knowledge , Thanks

Makkar days that sarbat Khalsa will not be allowed to go ahead, and only Akal Takht can order a sarbaat Khalsa..

Hes very deluded... But it pretty strange that a sarbat Khalsa had been arranged for diwali , why so far ahead? This allows the momentum between the issue to slow down, people begin to lose interest. Also it gives the SGPC and Badal Dal time to think about counter measures and smear campaigns to derail the issue..

just goes to show the stable from which the jathedars are selected by SGPC ... Sarbat Khalsa needs to pick the next one not anyone else .

I don't think that even the Sarbat Khalsa will end positively. Everyone will try and make themselves look good (including the fake people), and the whole system will be open for even more infiltration.

Various groups/Dals/Jathas can't even choose their own Jathedars without a fight/arguement/trouble....how will the Jathedar of the whole Sikh Panth be chosen peacefully? Lol, even on Gurpurabs there have been clashes between groups. It's a sad state of affairs.

my first call would be to excommunicate no roti, bet sang with makkard, badal parivar, and bachana, excommunicate/aayllan that family of Jagir Kaur is not sikh as well because she murdered her daughter ,fire the new secretary...then select jathedar do anything else anything else

The real jathedar is akali baba prem Singh. Before him was akali baba surjeet singh. Baba Santa Singh appointed akali baba surjeet Singh as jathedar in 2005. Baba daya Singh bidhi chand wale, baba makhan Singh tarna dal wale and baba nihal Singh harian vela vale where all there in 2005 to appoint akali baba surjeet Singh as jathedar.

Nihangs were almost completely absent from 1984 times and till today they say that "this isn't/that wasn't our fight"........ and Santa Singh was with Indira Gandhi. On top of that they too aren't immune from fighting about who their Jathedars are.

Fast forward/rewind to last year:

Ladli-fauj? Nihangs are no fauj or ladli of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji. In the distance past they were but now they are no better than Dal Khalsa or sgpc. All they do is take land from the poor, kill animals for eating meat for the tongue, bow before politicians, destroy Sikh history and think they are an army. Only thing they fight is an innocent goat and even then they tie a rope around the neck and get one of their cronies to hold the back legs so it can't defend itself.

WAKE UP, KHALSA PANTH HAS NO ARMY....ONLY "HOUSEHOLDERS" LEFT.

You choosen ones can insult others Gods and Goddesses with full immunity. Soon as Hindus do the same, you are a victim and cry and whine all year. Ram Rahim recreated his own version of bring people into his fold. Similar to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji giving Amrit. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji raised his own palki against the idol worshippers. Used very similar method for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. So why is it now, you choosen ones are crying? Ram Rahim didn't attack Sikhs for making his own Amrit. But infact Sikhs tried to attack him for making his own Amrit.

Wow. You sure have turned a new leaf it seems. Although you definitely have a point.

In other news, Dhumma, not so surprisingly, turned a little pro-Jathedar. Glad to see he has been given the boot for his actions.

In a fit of rage, Naveen Sandhu purportedly broke the poultry worker's leg when the latter refused to give him chicken.     21 October, 2021   The Nihang Sikhs camping at the Singhu border have been in the headlines ever since they brutally lynched a Dalit labourer Lakhbir Singh. Now, once again, reports have emerged where another Dalit worker has fallen victim to their rage. A poultry farm worker was allegedly beaten up at the border area for not yielding to the demands of a Nihang Sikh. The incident reportedly took place on Thursday, October 21. Two videos of the worker, whose leg is alleged to have been broken, have also surfaced online. A report by the Hindi daily, Dainik Bhaskar, suggests that a Nihang named Naveen Sandhu, who is involved in the ‘farmers’ protest, had assaulted the labourer who supplied chicken near the Singhu border. In a fit of rage, Naveen Sandhu purportedly broke the poultry worker’s leg when the latter refused to give him chicken. In a video shared by Newsroom Post, the injured victim, a poultry worker named Manoj Paswan, sits helplessly on the floor while narrating his ordeal. Manoj, who is a native of Bihar, said that he had come from the farm and was going to deliver the chicken when a “Sardarji” demanded chicken from him. The injured worker further added that he refused to give a chicken to the Sikh as he was carrying a limited and accounted quantity of poultry. At this point, Manoj Pawan took out some slips from his pocket and showed them in the camera. He claimed that the slips were proof that he had counted number of chicken pieces that he had to deliver, hence he could not spare one for the Nihang. He said he conveyed the same to Sandhu who refused to listen to him and started assaulting him. Reportedly, another boy who was accompanying Paswan was also beaten up by Sandhu, but he managed to slip out. He then ran back to the poultry farm and informed the people there as to what transpired. After this, the people of the farm reached the spot and caught the Nikhan Sikh who assaulted Manoj Paswan and handed him over to the Kundli police.  Manoj Paswan works with Satyavan, who runs a chicken shop at Kundli Border. Satyavan told that he has a business of supplying chicken in Kundli and nearby villages. Manoj has been supplying chicken in the villages for 15-16 years. On Thursday too, as usual, when he came out on his rickshaw with chicken from the shop, the Nihang stopped and beat him on the way. Another video that has gone viral shows Paswan lying on the stretcher of a hospital, saying, “I showed the Nihang the slips of the poultry numbers as well. While I was taking the slip out of my pocket, a beedi came out with it as well. The Nihang abused me for it and said ‘you smoke beedi‘. When I said that everyone smokes beedi, I do as well but do not smoke here, he beat me up again.” Reports suggest that the accused Sanghu belongs to the Nihang sect that is headed by Baba Aman Singh. Series of attacks conducted by Nihang Sikhs Prior to this, the Nihang Sikhs had made it to the news for the brutal execution of a Dalit Sikh labourer at the Kundli border farmers’ protest site just outside of New Delhi on Friday morning. He was found hanging with his limbs chopped off and tied near his body. A group of Nihang Sikhs were seen admitting to the murder on claims of disrespecting the Guru Granth Sahib. Following the incident, a video went viral on social media in which the Nihang Sikhs were not only heard justifying the murder of the man in cold blood but also gloating about the sheer barbarity inflicted by them on Lakhbir Singh. While it may be difficult to forget the scars of this heinous act, this is only one of several recent incidents in which Nihang Sikhs have ruthlessly mutilated and killed people in recent times. In April last year, a group of five Nihangs, armed with swords and iron rods, had attacked two policemen and chopped off the hands of ASI Harjeet Singh. Two weeks after the aforementioned incident, a Nihang Sikh identified as Tej Singh allegedly attacked two locals in Mandayali village in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh over a small argument. While one victim’s four fingers were chopped off, the other received severe injuries on the head.

He dared the radical group to visit Jodhpur and see for themselves what it would mean trying to secede Jodhpur from India.  A Twitter user replied to the tweet warning them what people of Bharatpur are capable of doing if they tried including the district in Khalistan.
