The World Health Organisation (WHO) says that almost one million people commit suicide every year, with 20 times that number attempting it, and the numbers are rising. Methods vary from country to country: in the USA, where firearms litter the streets, 60% of people shoot themselves; in India and other Asian countries, as well as South Africa, taking poison, particularly drinking pesticides, is the most popular choice.

Four big problems that contribute to sucides are: 1) Family / relationship break downs 2) Fiancial pressures 3) Atheism 4) Feminism

The first two has always been going on since humanity began. With the mass promotion of atheism and feminism particular in modern secular countries there is a rise of people losing it all because they believe society has changed so much its no longer caring or supportive its all about dog eat dog because those who gave power to the atheists and feminist did so not unknowingly but knowlingly exactly what the consequences for society would be and how these consequences would help reduce the human population, reduce workers rights and collect more taxes for the banksters and royal famililes who rule over their minion worker slaves.

For a person to have a meaningful life they need a purpose.. Atheism hedonism capitalist socities offers no purpose to life just enjoyment of what this world has to offer, screw people over it doesnt matter because there is no God so who cares no one to be accountable to and if you have nothing to enjoy your lfie becomes pointless.

The solution is quite simple its firm belief in Waheguru and his true religion Sikhi not no man made cults like atheism and other ideologies and religions.

Point is those who would have had faith and persevered in the past centuries now have removed the support of faith and Akal Purakh since they feel it is unmodern or scientific to have belief. SO in that situation people are more likely to turn to drink and drugs to numb their hurts. if it gets too bad then they think what is the point continuing the suffering and off themselves . But the sad fact is they didn't learn this life's lessons so will have to repeat it until they do.

Athiesm is the biggest reason out of all the reasons..

I don't think this is one of the biggest reasons. People that believe in God also have suicidal thoughts. One cannot say if one believes in God that they will not have those thoughts.

Karam also play a part as Jkvlondon penji above has emphasized, it all depends on what situation one is in not being able to cope with something that a stronger person would be able to with. Unless somebody has been in a situation, it pointless making statements that they don't know.

"Some of the negative life experiences that may cause depression, and some other causes for depression, include:

The death of a loved one.

A divorce, separation, or breakup of a relationship.

Losing custody of children, or feeling that a child custody decision is not fair.

A serious loss, such as a loss of a job, house, or money.

A serious illness.

A terminal illness.

A serious accident.

Chronic physical pain.

Intense emotional pain.

Loss of hope.

Being victimized (domestic violence, rape, assault, etc).

A loved one being victimized (child murder, child molestation, kidnapping, murder, rape, assault, etc.).

Physical abuse.

Verbal abuse.

Sexual abuse.

Unresolved abuse (of any kind) from the past.

Feeling "trapped" in a situation perceived as negative.

Feeling that things will never "get better."

Feeling helpless.

Serious legal problems, such as criminal prosecution or incarceration.

Feeling "taken advantage of."

Inability to deal with a perceived "humiliating" situation.

Inability to deal with a perceived "failure."

Alcohol abuse.

Drug abuse.

A feeling of not being accepted by family, friends, or society.

A horrible disappointment.

Feeling like one has not lived up to his or her high expectations or those of another.

Bullying. (Adults, as well as children, can be bullied.)

Low self-esteem."

"Vulnerability to suicide

Many experts believe a number of things determine how vulnerable a person is to suicidal thinking and behaviour. These include:

life history – for example, having a traumatic experience during childhood, a history of sexual or physical abuse, or a history of parental neglect

mental health – for example, developing a serious mental health condition, such as schizophrenia

lifestyle – for example, if you misuse drugs or misuse alcohol

employment – such as poor job security, low levels of job satisfaction or being unemployed

relationships – being socially isolated, being a victim of bullying or having few close relationships

genetics and family history "

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
