Thousands of Sikhs , including the panchayat members of Panjgrain Khurd, and nearby village on Friday reached Faridkot to submit a memorandum to the deputy commissioner (DC) demanding immediate release of two brothers Rupinder Singh and Jaswinder Singh who were framed by Punjab Police on Tuesday in connection with the first case of alleged desecration of Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj at Bargari village on October 12.

There was a protest march on 23 October 2015 by Panthic groups from Panjgrain Kalan to Faridkot, where there was a large Panthic gathering outside the DC Office. This was in support of the two brothers Bhai Rupinder Singh and Bhai Jaswinder Singh, who have been arrested and falsely accused by the Police of committing the Bargari Beadbi. The Sikh Panth has not accepted such accusations and Panthic personalities have spoken out in their defence, demanding for the false registered cases to be withdrawn immediately and the real perpetrators found and punished. Baba Ranjit Singh Khalsa Dhadrianwale had said this was a drama being created to hide the truth.

Alleging frame-up, the protesters said Rupinder and Jaswinder were innocent. The protesters, led by Sikh leaders Baljeet Singh Daduwal, Sukhjeet Singh Khosa of the satkar committee, Paramjeet Singh Khalsa, president of the Sikh Students Federation (Mehta), Ranjeet Singh Dhandrianwale, Panthpreet Singh, Amrik Singh Ajnala, head of Damdami Taksal, Daler Singh Kheriwale, Rajinder Singh Majhi, Daler Singh Doad, Surjeet Singh Arianwale and Dhian Singh Mand, assembled at Panjgrain Khurd gurdwara and reached Faridkot around 1:30 pm
Besides people from Panjgrain Khurd, residents of Panjgrain Kalan, Malke, Saho Ke, Smalsar, Thathi Bhai, Sekha, Faridkot and Kotkapura towns also joined the protest march and were not ready to buy the police theory that the two brothers were involved in the desecration of Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj .

Sikh leaders list demands, threaten stir

Bargari (Faridkot), Oct 25

A gathering of more than 25,000 Sikhs passed nine resolutions at Bargari today and set November 15 as the deadline for the state to implement these or face protests. They threatened to gherao ministers and Akali MLAs, if the deadline was not met.

The gathering demanded that the guilty of sacrilege be identified at the earliest and action initiated against the officers involved in the firing incident that resulted in the death of two youths on October 14.

Over 70 religious preachers, leaders and representatives of various panthic organisations had finalised a draft that was presented before the gathering on the bhog of deceased Sikh protesters Bhagwan Krishan Singh and Gurjeet Singh.

No representative from the Sant Samaj was present on the occasion. Sikh sangat was asked to participate in Sarbat Khalsa to be held in Amritsar on November 10.

In a special message, Panj Pyaras of the Akal Takht asked Sikhs to get together for the common cause. Bhai Malkeet Singh read out their message to the audience.

Reading out the first resolution, Baljit Singh Daduwal said Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was corrupt and thirsty for the blood of his own community. Ranjit Singh Dhadrian Wale, Daler Singh Kheriwale, Panthpreet Singh Daduwal and Amrik Singh Ajnala will leave for the CMs resident from Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib on October 30 so that they could present him their blood to quench his thirst, he said.

In another resolution, Punjabis have been asked to organise peaceful protests on November 3 from 12 noon to 3 pm. They have been asked to line up on both sides of the roads holding black flags all over the state during that period. Sikhs have been asked to participate in the protest without disturbing the traffic. They have also been asked to observe Black Diwali this year.

The gathering sought the release of all political prisoners, including Rupinder Singh and Jaswinder Singh of Punjgrain Khurd who were arrested by the Faridkot police on the charge of bir desecration. Another resolution demanded SGPC elections at the earliest. The elections have been pending because a case is sub judice in the Supreme Court.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
