Just remember that this most likelymeans attacks on Sikhs will also increase, because of ignorant people.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Pastor

(Muslims may or may not be the best people alive, but that doesn't mean we just let them get attacked )

Conspiracy theories aside, it's quite curious how government proposals to do with internet surveillance by the state pre-Paris attacks were roundly condemned by people and the media (as well as ideas being floated about attacking Syria), but post-Paris attacks the public were practically begging the authorities to rifle through their emails and nuke Syria if it meant they were spared from the barbarity of ISIS' bullets on the streets of the West.

I think seeing a conspiracy in everything is quite counter-productive, yet there has to be some kind of process that goes on whereby things are pushed through due to a demand from the public that would otherwise not be given the time of day in normal circumstances. Too much of a coincidence.

It's inevitable that some Sikhs will be caught up in any backlash against retaliatory attacks on the west.

People make sure you train, and be alert without looking shifty when out and about.

From my experiences some people start slightly cracking up when the tension increases. Anticipate this.

I think tubes/trains and buses with their confined spaces especially lend themselves to paranoid, spontaneous, ranting outbursts.

And it might not be you on the receiving end; you might witness some sulli janani or bazurag getting it. When possible we could try and calm the situation. But be prepared for anything.

Yeah I experienced something yesterday at Winterwonder Land in London. I was wearing a beanie though instead of a pugh (let's not go into well you deserved it or whatever for not wearing a pugh as I'm sure some posters on here are probably cut haired anyway). I actually did try tying a dastar before I left the house but I was having a bad pugh day and it wouldn't tie and I was getting late so just put on the beanie. But anyway, I was getting funny looks left right and centre from everyone. I went to look for a friend who became separated and I'd say I was probably the only Indian in sight in one of the parts of the attraction (Bavarian Village). Then a rag type thing (looked like a t shirt, not 100 per cent sure) landed straight on my head. I mean what are the chances of it landing on my head out of 100 - 150 gora all around me. My friends and even a gora I asked said it was just a coincidence but I doubt it. Made me well angry. I asked a gora next to me who did it, he said it came from over there (pointed to a crowd). It was impossible to find out who it was (and believe me I wanted to as I am confrontational about these sorts of things) but it had to have been intentional or just a massive coincidence. But yeah, these things are happening more and more.

The store or malls cctv will have it recorded.

I try and avoid gora majority places as often as possible as a rule. These things are more likely to happen there. (Plus I don't really feel the vibe to be honest).

I find sticky situations most likely to happen on the train/tube home in the evening, say after 8.00 pm. I think a lot of people are coming home after a few pints then and are in little crews which emboldens them. I like East London in this respect because there are so many ethnics - if anything goray are probably more intimidated there than ethnics, but when I have to work elsewhere and travel home in the late evenings I know the score.

A couple of months ago I was on the tube in the afternoon and some Bengali guy was there with his young daughter (I'd guess about 6/7 years old) who was playing innocently in a half full carriage. Then all of a sudden she came running back to her father saying "Daddy! Daddy! A white man swore at me over there."

That's the kind of petty people around. If you grew up in the 70s/80s you'd know how nasty people can get. They especially target the vulnerable. It's like if you was there with a few tasty mates, they'd brew but keep their mouths shut (for good reason too if you got mates like mine), but catch you on your own, when they are with their mates - different story.

dallysingh101 you're right mate. I was just so put off yesterday and it's happening more and more often. The amount of looks I was getting, I wasn't happy at all. Then ontop of that, my mate was so merry, more merry than usual and singing along to all the Christmas songs and dancing and expecting me to do the same but I wasn't reciprocating because of my mood. It was well annoying.

You might be right man, I may start avoiding these sorts of places now too. I can't stand people looking at me, I don't get shy and reserved, I get a mad temper. I don't like feeling p'''ed of all the time. I've nearly got into fights over this sort of thing before.
