I understand our culture

Go re read what i said

Mama boy someone who is unable to take care of themselves an need mommy to take care of them

truth is ...not really a Mamma's boy but a nalaik aulad who would hang around his elderly parents neck like a millstone then turf them out of their home when the opportunity strikes . It is called self-entitlement , you will see hundreds of examples across the country not just in our homes but in gorey , kaley, peeley homes too ...it's referred to as the millenial syndrome ...

the same could be reversed , why would any sane, well educated sikh girl knowing the law tie herself to a similar sharabi kebabi man only to have him brow beat her and her folks because his machismo is offended by her abilities to survive without and even in spite of him i.e. undermining his emotional blackmail .When he realises that she is secure he tries to divorce her and thus get her turfed out of her hard-earned property (remember she had to work more hours to get the same) to have it sold and divided between them?

The answer for the Sikh women is that she shouldn't marry the drunkard either, (it really isn't that hard).

because the scummy husbands i.e. the father's perceive it to be money down the drain which they could use for their own drinking and comforts ...don't just put it on a female because it is usually the husband who pressurises intimately stating he will dump the wife if she proceeds , what a hijarda ! If he was a sikh he would neither give or take anything from his in-laws , thus he would perpetuate RIGHT SIKH attitudes downwards for his own sons and daughters and they onwards . It is the men who dump women after quick viah in punjab having demanded and cleared the girl's family bank balance and then repeating the cycle .

Personally, I have never heard of a situation where a husband pressurised his wife to have an abortion because they may be having a girl.

It's funny in the west that feminists claim a woman's right to choose to have an abortion but claim the opposite when women in the east have one.

There's often a 'Queen Bee' syndrome at work in extended Panjabi homes when the mother sees herself as the head and goes overboard in maintaining her perceived authority and ranking amongst younger females that marry into the family.

One of things I have realised over the years, there is a lot going on with women that a lot of blokes do not realise.

With women, a lot of communication is covert and unless you are not aware of the signals you will not pick it up.

My dad used to call it doing the "bhenji bhenji".

How is paying for a procedure equate to pressuring?

most people in punjab complain abou spending on everything , so they obviously sanction finding out the sex as an important spend , and once the result is found out they book in th e abortion then and there putting down more money ...if that is not pressurising the mother of the baby what is in your book? most married women would not expect to abort a child of that marriage least of all for the crass reason of sex besides it's the guy's bindh that decide the sex unpard gwar loki will only blame a girl

I have met women who have had repeated procedures because the guy can only produce females ... the weight of the sin lies heavy on their hearts not the man's

p.s. that is why there was a policy of not revealing sex to Indians in UK for so many years

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
