So its not only Sikhism that lays importance to Amrit vela. For some reason I have recently been waking up at around midnight. In the dark - i just could not find my phone which was odd. So I just sat and said Japji and waheguru jap. Then I came across this and it sounds very interesting.

Waheguru never kills anyone. He just shifts souls from one body to another. The Israelites were slaved and mistreated by the Eghyptians because they did not follow the rules given to them by God. They had engaged in idol worship. Moses was born after they repented of their sins. God was now to guide them out of Egypt into freedom. In fact there were 10 plagues as well which the Egyptians had to suffer

This is the same as what happened to Harnakhash. God came down as Narsingh to finish him off..
