Gurdwara Changing Amrit Sanchar

Recommended Posts

“This is a historical step and we congratulate the Sikh Sangat of Virginia. By conducting the Pahul Sanchar without reading banis by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, they have shown their dedication to the Guru,” published Khalsa News, a tabloid operated by excommunicated Ragi Darshan Singh.

this is spoken by a true sellout - namak- . This is GOI attack direct on Guru Sahiban Maryada no KHalsa without panj banian

I wasn't endorsing the action, I just felt like it had to be told.

How does the Sikh sangat correct this going forward?

I think sitting down with these fellows should be the first course of action. Some educated Sikhs in Gurbani should approach them and have a discussion to rectify the mistake they are making. Mostly it's one or two trouble makers and rest are bandwagon junkies who need to be educated.

These rats cannot be convinced. The onus is for as many Sikhs and Gurdwaras to counter their parchar, (which is very vigorous online) by having talks on Sri Dasme Patshah's Granth. One thing that definitely help is if SGPC starting doing parkash of this Holy Granth at Takhts as was done before they took over. This would introduce wider sangat to Sri Dasme Patshah's Granth. The other thing is to give free literature on the Holy Granth as well.

Plus IMO no Granthi, katha vachak, kirtani, sikh leader should be allowed to speak from any Gurdwara until they have confirmed with gurdwara committee that they fully believe in Sri Dasme Patshah's Granth.

SGPC are the ones who removed Dasam Granth from Akal Takht with open slurs against it ...they will never reinstate it . I propose that abhilakees are talked to by full rehitvaan panj piarey and given opportunity to actually have khande di pahul...asap

they removed it because of their ignorance about it. But if the Panth were to make calls for the Parkash to be restarted then it would solve a lot of things. It's a long shot but one that would have a very positive outcome if it were to succeed. Or even use it as a matta in the next SGPC elections.

it was a deliberate move because they referred to it as an offensive word granth when removed and people suggested to reinstate it again . Other excuse was it was being 'studied' in the reference library when all in library knew that was not the real reason. I was reading and listening katha on Zafarnama , that if a gursikh was to do jaap of it then they will become always victorious and nirbai . I think reciting and singing dasam bani has to be a must to open up people's minds to just how our Pita ji gave us good consul and prayed . If we can get that going it will all start happening

not denying but increasing from that point , we are allowed to sing his bani but why don't we ? and why do committee types freak out when it happens ?

    • They will have rainbow banners and floating unicorns in the Gurdwara if they get their way.
    • I'm hooked on this stuff! Can't stop drinking it! Started drinking it when I was 15/16 it's been over 10 years now and i drink it everyday.  Tried so many times giving up but the longest I last is like a week without it. I think you body gets addicted to it and asks for more.
    • Rebuild khabran.sikhnerd.com This was an old project where I attempted to have all relevant sikh news and blogs in one place for easy consumption.  I could resurrect this project as I think there is still room on the internet for something like this, though a simple RSS aggregator is likely too simple. Maybe you’d want to build more of a community-style site around the news articles being streamed in, or focus only on positive stories.  Should also add audio/video/etc as well. There are a lot of ways I could make this better and more useful. Sikh Resource Archive Idea of creating a pure and simple online archive of sikh resources. This would be focused on digital collection of everything sikhi-related, with a specific goal of things that are ‘useful’.  Timeline Another idea that I’ve been kicking around for a very long time is to make an awesome interactive timeline of Sikh History, across all sorts of dimensions. As specific as possible, with lot’s of different features and types of data you can access. To give a cool and easy-to-use view of sikh history and gurmat. Something like this or this. The main part of the project would be to consolidate the history into something that can be consumed by software, including lots of metadata, and making it free and open to all. This site is a great starting point and example to follow – it’s also very cool so check it out.
