Gurdwara Changing Amrit Sanchar

Recommended Posts

“This is a historical step and we congratulate the Sikh Sangat of Virginia. By conducting the Pahul Sanchar without reading banis by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, they have shown their dedication to the Guru,” published Khalsa News, a tabloid operated by excommunicated Ragi Darshan Singh.

this is spoken by a true sellout - namak- . This is GOI attack direct on Guru Sahiban Maryada no KHalsa without panj banian

I wasn't endorsing the action, I just felt like it had to be told.

How does the Sikh sangat correct this going forward?

I think sitting down with these fellows should be the first course of action. Some educated Sikhs in Gurbani should approach them and have a discussion to rectify the mistake they are making. Mostly it's one or two trouble makers and rest are bandwagon junkies who need to be educated.

These rats cannot be convinced. The onus is for as many Sikhs and Gurdwaras to counter their parchar, (which is very vigorous online) by having talks on Sri Dasme Patshah's Granth. One thing that definitely help is if SGPC starting doing parkash of this Holy Granth at Takhts as was done before they took over. This would introduce wider sangat to Sri Dasme Patshah's Granth. The other thing is to give free literature on the Holy Granth as well.

Plus IMO no Granthi, katha vachak, kirtani, sikh leader should be allowed to speak from any Gurdwara until they have confirmed with gurdwara committee that they fully believe in Sri Dasme Patshah's Granth.

SGPC are the ones who removed Dasam Granth from Akal Takht with open slurs against it ...they will never reinstate it . I propose that abhilakees are talked to by full rehitvaan panj piarey and given opportunity to actually have khande di pahul...asap

they removed it because of their ignorance about it. But if the Panth were to make calls for the Parkash to be restarted then it would solve a lot of things. It's a long shot but one that would have a very positive outcome if it were to succeed. Or even use it as a matta in the next SGPC elections.

it was a deliberate move because they referred to it as an offensive word granth when removed and people suggested to reinstate it again . Other excuse was it was being 'studied' in the reference library when all in library knew that was not the real reason. I was reading and listening katha on Zafarnama , that if a gursikh was to do jaap of it then they will become always victorious and nirbai . I think reciting and singing dasam bani has to be a must to open up people's minds to just how our Pita ji gave us good consul and prayed . If we can get that going it will all start happening

not denying but increasing from that point , we are allowed to sing his bani but why don't we ? and why do committee types freak out when it happens ?

    • Maybe this will help - https://www.discoversikhism.com/sikh_gurus/guru_nanak_jagannath_puri.html
    • That site says “According to Padmabhushan Dr. Durgadas Basu, a National Research Professor, Guru Nanak was given mantra diksha by non other than Prabhu Nityananda while the latter was traveling through Bangladesh (Bengal). That Sri Nanak was a ‘mantra shishya’ of Nityananda Prabhu has been written down in his autobiography and the last chapter of the Guru Grantha Sahib, while elaborating the greatness and glory of the Holy ‘Naam’.” This is NOT true. Plus the article indicates that Sikhi is more a form krishna bhakti.

    • where and who are these teachers? Shastar vidiya is completely different from karate, from the footwork, stance, punching etc... a neutral sikh warrior, what is that? a sikh warrior should read dasam bani   Surely most other gatka ustads show hunkaar as they have no lineage and nothing to measure their skills against? Just found this thread, they ended the thread because nobody could come up with an answer. I assume the sikhsangat admins now are more mature than the silly admins back then who would just close topics which didn't fit their mindset!
    • Do you know of any other teachers of Shastar Vidiya? If so, would you kindly share here ji? And which "money first" attitude are you referring to? Since the Akhara has become more established, and the services provided by the Akhara (Gurdev ji travelling worldwide, publishing of books, interviews/seminars etc.), there will of course be a monetary element involved to sustain such ventures. And there is nothing wrong with this. Are you taking in to account the students he teaches for free because they can't afford lessons? Or more to the point, do you even know about this? I think not. I myself back in the day would train with students who trained for free. On to your final point. Full of hankaar. Based on what? Every individual has their own temperament. And I for one do not have a "universal metre stick" which I use to measure everyone's avgun and judge whether or not they can teach the Vidiya. Have all your teachers been brahmgyanis? The mother is the first teacher of the children. You have children. Should one then assert that you are unworthy of teaching your children because you are "full of hankaar" (hypothetically speaking of course)? Please, let us not split hairs with this. Time and time again over the years I hear the same thing with regards to Gurdev Nidar Singh Ji. Your grievances with him have nothing to do with the Vidiya, but with his ideology (which is not entirely different if you go through it properly). And again, it goes back to the same point. Gatka is an exhibitionist art, nothing more. Shastar Vidiya is the real deal.
