If Khalistan Was Given Next Week Would It Last

How about a voluntary society? Then no one will ever be able to control the Panjab

As great as that sounds a voluntary society can only be possible if everyone else is in a similar society, (also it would be negative in an international stage and we'd be in constant war from attackers).

We choose the National Punj Pyare in the same way the Gurdwaras choose Punj Pyare, if you remember the Akal Takht opposed the SGPC Jathedars, so clearly they weren't servants of the Jathedars. Bureaucracy only leads to corruption, any nation will show you that, (what makes you think elected leaders of an independent Khalistan won't be corrupted?)

Im not actually aware of how a gurdwara chooses its Panj Pyare, could you explain it please or show me where I can find the info?

Bureaucracy is needed for any modern nation, im not 100% sure what your views regarding politics in Khalistan, but surely we both agree 5 people alone cannot deal with issues such as banking, infrastructure, education, foreign affairs, military and so on. Considering how complex modern nations are I think you will need bureaucracy and elected officials. Maybe have Panj Pyare act as the final say, signing off on bills/legislations etc.

Most Gurdwaras pick Punj Pyare on, first being an Rehitwale Amritdhari, (based on interpretation), and someone who's in the Sangat and does Sewa often, (from the Gurdwaras I've been to), also considering that Ranjit Singh's empire collapsed almost immediately after he died, eventually with the last king just giving all the land without consulting anyone was just awful. I can agree to a legislative branch acting as advisors to the Punj Pyare, but ultimately all power should be given to the 5.

Given? No one is going to give khalistan to anyone. Which fool in the right mind would cut out one of its most prosperous states ever?

All this silly talk needs to end. Khalistan zindabad etc oh give it a rest. How many of us are willing to leave behind our lives of pure comfort here in the west and return to our homeland to free it from the dushts? Forget khalistan, what effort have we made to free punjab from badal et al?!

Khalistan is but a dream. Our shaheeds did their bit. Is anyone willing to do theirs? Nope. Thats me included. We're too comfortable. It pains us to see punjab in its current state but we're not willing to take any action.

People don't just fight on land anymore, there's also air strikes and drones. We should still keep Shastars, but also being practical about the Shastars in the present time as well.

Whether we like it or not Khalistan is a reality on ground level in punjab and will become a overt reality in the near future in terms of government level.

Already Hindu brahmin extremists are crapping in their pants and making all kinda anti-sikh propaganda on facebook and youtube because they know Khalistan is deep within the hearts of most Sikhs so its very difficult to remove even after years of genocides and anti-sikh hate speeches it only increases the strength of Sikhs because persecution helps us to be militant and strong otherwise become liberal and sleepy.

A viable Khalistan can easily work within the Indian union as a small regional religious autonomous area with a Sikh government without most of the dangers of right independence carries for both Sikhs and the Union.

If however the Indian union central govt in delhi are not wise and chose to block this very reasonable step then when or if war with pakistan or china ever comes. Sikhs will definitely take full advantage by working with the enemies of India and be the rebel army that destroys the union.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
