Question About Khanda Sahib

SSA Ji.

It seems to be a weird question but I am still looking for some answers:

How should we treat Khanda Sahib? Just like utmost respect like Guru Granth Sahib Ji?

Some people wear it, some hang in their cars, some install it as a sticker on their cars.

I have installed it in my car in the rear view mirror. When it comes to cleaning it, I usually clean it with clean cloth or tissue paper.

Is it a disrespect if I clean it with regular cloth that I use to clean the car?

On the other hand when I look at people who paste Khanda Sahib as a sticker on their car and when they wash it, it is obvious that people will use the same cloth to clean the car to clean the sticker of Khanda Sahib.

Should we always use clean hands to hold Khanda Sahib?

What is the significance? Please someone shed some light on this topic

Singh ji, most people i have seen here usually replies to posts that are important like gf bf love sexuality etc,

The respect for khanda and other similar topics are considered unimportant by majority of members.

They dnt even like to reply here.

Some members who are always present here, they will reply in seconds to these IMPORTANT topics but not for ur type of topics, better to ask any gurmukh inperson

What i have noticed here in two years, your r rite mr.kira.

Everyone like to reply to posts u said above.

The sexuality related posts have maximum number of replies. Even the mods and admins allow such posts on sikhsangat. Open mind and open discussions on sexual problems are okay for the development of sikh sangat but but admins had allowed many posts that are just stupid like how to propose a girl, how to make my gf ready for marriage etc, nd the prominent members of this forum who always reply immediately, simran345, jackfsingh, singh12345777, sikhni777 , guptkaur etc they post long essays for these replies but they never ask admins to stop posting such non sense on this forum. Infact there are couple of members i used to read their posts regarding this issue, but most of them has been banned or blocked by this forum admins or mods.

Thats not sikh sangat really, if someone post or comment opposite to ur thinking u block them, thats not right.

If someone use vulgar words, then ok block them but why u block people who snt post vulgar or wrong words?

This is totally correct, some of us in the Sangat here just don't have an answer for the Khanda issue.

I know people respect their gutkas from where they do path. They respect SGGS and are very particular when doing seva. However khanda is just a symbol. It should not be disrespected however. I don't have a khanda around me anywhere. The khanda has a different meaning for each individual. Most see it just as a symbol of sikhism. I doubt it if people wear it on their bodies apart from khanda chains, in which case it cannot be disrespected any way. The nihaangs and some others clip it on their dastaar.

There are some rules on how to respect a Gutka, and second the Gurbani is something that can allow people to be closer to the Guru. You can see Khandas everywhere and anywhere, (some folks even cut their Kesh, with a Khanda design).

There is no official guideline on how to treat a Khanda. Given that it is a Sikh insignia and present on Nishan Sahibs, it would advisable to follow good common respectful practice - don't throw it on the ground, step on it and keep it in a respectful place, much as any person would their nation's flag or symbolism.

The Khanda was made by the SGPC and was not around during the Guru's time.

In my humble opinion, I would respect it as an agreed symbol of Sikhi and as a Shastar (as it does consist of weapons) but not pay so much important.

Better to pay importance to SGGSJ and things which will bring you closer to God.
