Interesting you use the word "settle" and you prove my point exactly.

For most men, they do not really care whether their potential spouse is a lawyer or works in a supermarket. The biggest factor is that they are young and pretty.

Education for women is status related. Women always want to raise their level.

I see both sides are equally shallow. And then you have both sides complaining how cruel their partners are which is their fault because their primary attraction wasn't based on having good qualities and personality.

Your post made me laugh.  Majority of Jatts are still farmers, they think they are.  They go for white skinned floosies in diaspora because of Chitta gora rang even if they have no morals.  In fact, our tribe suffers from a serious mental defect  known as inferiority complex.  Gora rang still rules even someone from the gutters.  Most of my male JATT relatives openly admit it and some are also married to gorehs out of inferiority complex.  What's more, none of them, I repeat, none of them have managed to raise their children as Sikhs.  They are all doing their own thing and mostly either atheists or <banned word filter activated> nothing!  Shame on them.

Daas isn't a Jatt,(even genetically), by "our community", Daas was referring to Sikhs and Punjabis in general. From the Diaspora Jatts Daas has met, (the proud ones), they seem to be in variety of careers, unless it's an American thing, (though they first came as farmers in Yuba City),

If your bringing Karams into it, we'd all be in constant punishment. Only the Satguru was ever without Karma. Daas knows that none of us are completely pure without Guru Sahib. Don't mix Hindu Karam ideology with the idea of Sikh Karam, the 2 are very different. Also there seems to be confusion between Hukam and Karams. When Gurbani says, and "manas ki jat sabhe eke paihcanbo", and then we have some people believing in slavery, we got a problem. (Also what makes your Karams so great, since you want to bring that into it, if we were judged on Karams 100% of us would be permanent in reincarnation, like Hindus believe?)

Plus the fact that Guru Nanak Dev ji  went to Rome with Bhai Mardana ji (evidence in vatican archives) to admonish the roman catholic church for committing THE SIN of enslavement of fellow humans should give you some idea what attitude we need to take .

So you are forbidding me to laugh at something wrong? Slavery existed from the time of The Roman empire. And guess what? Slavery & other bad things that happen to people, it is a product of their karm, basically they deserved it.

bro so are you saying perhaps becoming a sexual slave  is non-issue ? then answer me why did our Ancestors put life and limb at risk to save women and girls being dragged off to their fate in Ghazni? what is wrong , is wrong ...oppression is not a laughing matter but a bugle call to your conscience as a human

education for a woman is pure common sense , it follows on from being self-reliant as a Kaur , if the marriage ends suddenly for whatever reason she can still pay the bills , feed her kids ...also  if the 'SIngh' is abusive/violent she can have a choice to remove herself and the kids to safety .

The educated Sikh women can also extract more from abusive high status Sikh male husband in alimony and child support payments.

it can cut the other way if he is earning less than her because she may have to pay him alimony , according to Uk law this is an issue most don't realise ...happened to a friend I know . SO please leave your anti-kaur attitude at the door .

Karma in Sanskrit refers to the actions of a human being in this life (as opposed to a previous life as Hinduism falsely claims).

Karma are those actions which we have done and can be of this lifetime and the previous lifetimes. Gurmat supports the concept of reincarnation.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
