Where did entities come from in this topic..? I was trying to say we are all equal when we are in this sansar.

you do not know what you are saying that is why you are trying to push words into other people's mouth , I just gave examples of older peoples names which did not rely on inder, jeet or any of that list of endings .

Baldev is also the same as Balinder. That isn't my point though, my point is relying on names will give no shubh labh in dharam if that is all that matters.. Sri Gurbani Sahib ji is something that can help any situation.

actually preeto you are wrong Baldev is another name for Balram  the older brother of Krishna who taught how to use the mace to the kuruvs . And yes my Dad did know this entymology and he explained that Balram's strength came from Akal Purakh so that's who he focussed his life on . He could not change what his parent's had given him but he took it along to gurmat stance

You could also translate Baldev into meaning Strength of the Divine couldn't you? if Bal= Strength and Dev= Divine. So baldev could easily mean Singh of the Divine Strength, not sure though as im still learning about etymology

The 2nd version of a Sikh having godly attributes is what I was talking about, if someone is named Ravinder, they don't really become the Sun God. Do you think the name Sri Chand is antigurmat? Considering you think Ravinder (Sun God) is wrong?

did sri Chand become a sikh ????

Rav is Suryadev and Inder is the name of a particular Devta who is king of Devtas and svarglok. He was beaten up many times by demons/rakshasas. He also violated a chaste woman like Ahilia and as a result was cursed to have a 1000 private parts of a woman on his body. That's why Sikhs should avoid having inder ending names for their children unless it is inderjeet which means one who beats or gains victory over Inder.

Strangely you will rarely find a Hindu naming his child after Inder because of all the negative things Inder has done which are too many to list here. But every second Sikh male child has Inder in his name. o_O

part of the agenda , get punjabis to think such names are great, I have a cousin Sonali Kiran what it means is anyone's guess , and she has grown up into a very hinduised girl, her bro is Gursharan Deep and he used to have kesh now he is mona and a party dude , the eldest is Tarrunamdeep and she is very hindi dollified too ...

I am not wrong, Dev is still attributed there because Dev is divine as is Ram, and thus it is related to Devta. Take a gurmat stance on Inder and Preet/jit as well (:

Before that particular Inder's existant there were more Indra Devs, now all of them are not accountable for 1 Inder Devta's action.

Where are you getting this info that there are or were more than one Inderdev? There is only one Inder. And Inder is not seen positively by Hindu texts. Even Sikh scripture like Chandi Di  Vaar mentions how he was beaten up by the Rakshas army then he ran away.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
