Is Bhagti Inherited? (NOT INCLUDING THE MAHAPURUKHS)

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Daas wanted to know if Bhagti was inherited, because when pregnant mothers do lots of Bhagti while they are expecting the child usually becomes a person of higher Gurmat; however, there are some mothers who didn't do a lot of Bhagti and their children still turned out great, in terms of Gurmat. Also what can the father do to assist the child's Bhagti before the child is born, because it always seems like the mother's responsibility for Pre-Birth Simran? Also don't bring-up the issues of Mahapurukhs since many are sent by Vaheguru, and have been Pre-Mukt before they came, even Gurbani says they are exceptional. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

How many bhagtann mothers have you heard of in this day and of maha/ghorr kalyug where 99.99 per cent of the women population are surrounded with the likes of bollywood, hollywood, pop scenes, songs with filthy innuendos, sitcoms and drama series? Have you not noticed, gurdwara Sangat is packed with chuggalkhorrs?  I have not come across any and neither have I heard of many.

Most of them have become coconuts, atheists with hippy lifestyles to be honest.  Even if there are 3 such women, read my lips now, THEY DO NOT REPRESENT the 100 percent or the rest of the women population, only, minuscule!

Stop fantisizing and day dreaming.

Daas doesn't expect that you understand the point trying to get across, the difference is not that the mother is a Bhagat, but does Bhagti for before the child is born, (while she is pregnant), not on their daily normal lives. Also Daas was asking a question about the proper way for the mothers, not what humanity is going through right now, but rather an ideal.

the whole hateful speech you gave has zero to do with addressing the question ...try learning to think before speaking . A Sikh doesn't disparage women just cos he wants to ...if you are worried about outside influences complain about the fathers of these girls/women who don't take their parental roles seriously when they have to deal with teaching gurmat to their daughters whilst they are growing . Dhiley fathers produce dhiley children.

you wouldn't hear a bhagatan or see one as you seem to pay more attention to the people that are not and a bhagtan would hardly mix with them. besides you do not need to be a brahmgiani just nitnemi khalsa bibi to be better than the people you have a problem with .

Guru Nanak Dev jis parents performed a lot of bhagti in their past life for a pious son. That is why Guru Nanak Dev ji was born to them. Bibi Nanki was with Guru Nanak Dev Ji in many past lives as well.

Our past bhagti and the reason for which we perform that bhagti will greatly influence the results which we get - no matter what gender you are.

Bhagti cannot be inherited, however we are born to people who have similar avasta to ours. So we have been with our families for quite some time even before this janam. Slowly we changed as families to turn to Gurmat or away from it. Even one person who turns to Gurmat will save the whole family. This is because slowly - the mental attitude of all will start to change and turn to Gurmat. However this will happen over a repeated number of births - it is a slow process. ape beej ape hi kao

This is complete and utter nonsense. This is like the Catholicism belief we are all born with sin, then how can we be free and be redeemed? no one but I/You has any control over how much bhagti is done, we are the ones who can steer ourselves, the parent is the teacher, should he/she put them on the path they may follow it, some fall off it and some do so of their own accord. Saying that no harm will come from any amount of Simran done by the mother. Sikhi is so easy and clear to follow but people make it so difficult with nonsense beliefs of their own and preaching this that and the other.

It can be outrightly dangerous to make your own conclusions about things that have not been stated at all. if you feel you want to into a deep trench then dont take others with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
