well it may be the oldest secret club but the level of funds they control and in- government lackeys are evident ... If a certain, prominent section of Sikh society got over their lazy thinking and farming fetish, and started to think modern these types of economic 'issues' wouldn't hurt wider Sikh society. You're talking like Sikh future and fortune is rigidly tied to agriculture which is THE big problem. Like there aren't a hundred and one other economic avenues we could try to develop. 

And people crying that the Indian government doesn't help and that is why we are in doo-doo is another lazy cop out in my opinion. Only the simplest village-simpleton would even entertain the thought that the government has people's interest at heart. Even desis aren't that retarded.

That's just going 'otherworldly' for no reason. People need to face up to the crap our own people do that keeps us down. All the greed, selfishness, clannishness and the petty obsession with putting on some big show of your 'truckhee' and status. Panjab generates enough money from Gurdwara donations to bring it into the modern world but those qualities our people exhibit (as mentioned above) keep us in the 3rd world - mentally and physically. 

 

Until we do that, we haven't got a chance in hell to progress.

people haven't got enough clean water to drink in Punjab and you make light of my concerns , the water table will not recover  even if ALL the river water was given back .  In urban settings that will mean the difference between life and death for the poor. What is there is laced with poisons from agriculture and industry including carcinogens. Problems is Punjab is controlled by centre so closely and taxed so heavily both officially and by the thug police and govt officials unofficially that any new business sees it as a futile venture so they go to Gurgaon and the like . Until the thug culture is disabled businesses will not settle in Punjab , once that happens education will have to be invested in  to produce an able workforce

Our own lot are bad as any for this thug, pulling fast one culture. Only our own lot can root this out from amongst us - nobody else will do it.

Too much posing amongst our lot is the root of the issue. Pendu will come here and work like a slave digging ditches on construction sites, but wants to be some sort of big shot back home. I am increasingly getting to the point where I believe if it was not for Maharaja Ranjit SIngh Grand daughter's effort no Indian would ever have been recognised in the battlefield under the UK forces

Just watched this last night.

 

That was quite revealing! So all of the pictures of wounded Sikh soldiers in hospitals with a smiling angelic white nurse amongst them were staged, and in reality white nurses weren't allowed to treat Sikh soldiers..... hmmmm
